本寮では、現在地に寮舎が移転してきた６年前から、年に一度の施食会を公開法要として近隣の方をお招きしています。本年度の施食会は６月２９日（土）に行いますが、先日、寮の近所のお宅、マンション等に、そのご案内（下部に添付）をお届けして回りました。
施食会の告知の方法としては、世田谷区の広報に載せてもらったり、大学のキャンパスに案内を掲示したりといったことも考えられるのですが、法堂に外部の方を受け入れられる数は最大５０で、大々的に宣伝すると、せっかく参加希望の方に来て頂いても入りきれないということもあり得るので、６年前の第１回めからこの方法をとっています。
毎年、近隣から２０人から３０人くらいの方がお見えになるのですが、これくらいの数がちょうどいいでしょう。寮の隣には、十数人の留学生や海外からの研究者が住む駒澤大学の国際交流館があり、また近隣には外国の大使館の方など外国人の方もお住まいなので、英語版も作って配っています。もっとも英語圏の方は、２、３年に１人くらいし.かお見えになりません。ご参考までに、以下に「ご案内」の内容をコピー＆ペーストします。

施食会（せじきえ）のご案内
入梅の候、深沢にお住まいの皆様方には益々ご清祥の事とお慶び申し上げます。
平素は駒澤大学竹友寮に格別のご理解とご協力を賜り、誠にありがとうございます。本寮においては、５０名の寮生が、毎朝の坐禅、朝課、晩課等の他、年中行事として、様々な法要をお勤めしておりますが、本年も公開法要として、恒例となりました竹友寮施食会を実施致したくご案内をさせて頂きます。
駒澤大学は元来曹洞宗立の大学で、私共も宗侶ですので曹洞宗の法要を行いますが、ご参加になる方々のご宗派は問いません。
ご希望の方は、当日受付にてご先祖のご戒名、または参加なさる方のお名前などお知らせ頂ければ、法要中にお名前を読み込み、ご先祖の供養を致します。当日、用紙を用意致しますので、読み込みご希望の方は、ご戒名などご用意の上、その場でお申し込み下さい。申し込みの時間を見込んでお早目に入館して頂ければ幸いに存じます。
なお、法要は研修の一環としてお勤めしますので、ご参加にあたっては、費用は一切必要ありません。仏様へのお供物等ございましたらありがたくお受け致しますが、むろんこれは必須のものではありません。
法要に先立ちまして、本年は、４月に任期満了を迎え本学の総長を退任された田中良昭老師に代わり、新たに総長に着任された池田魯参老師による法話がございますので、お誘い合わせの上、どうぞご参集下さい。法要は畳の間で行いますが、椅子を用意致しますので、正座の必要はありません。
法要のみにご参加を希望される方は、午後３時までにご入館下さい。尚、法要中に写真撮影をなさっても構いません。
寮監と寮生一同、心よりご参加をお待ち申し上げております。

Dear neighbors,
Six years have passed since Chikuyu-ryo moved here from the other side of Komazawa Olympic park. We deeply appreciate your cooperation to let us go on our Buddhist training here in Fukasawa area.
Chikuyu-ryo is one of the dormitories of Komazawa University. This year, 50 students live here at the edge of Komazawa park. The residents must be the students of the Buddhist faculty and must have been qualified as the monks of Soto-shu (one of the major Japanese Buddhist schools) before they entered the university. They go to the campus in the daytime and spend the rest of their daily lives just like trainees in Zen training temples, practicing Zazen, ceremonies and cleaning (samu) in traditional way under the instructions of the Ryokan (superintendent).
As we have repeated for six years, we plan to hold a Sejiki-e (a kind of the Buddhist traditional memorial services for ancestors) again on June 29th, and we’d like to invite you to the ceremony. Non Buddhists are welcome. We’d like you to take a look at our activity as an intercultural experience. It takes about 1 hour to complete the ceremony. It might be quite a long time for you but we provide you stools, so you don’t have to sit down on tatami in seiza posture. You need neither donations nor offerings to attend the ceremony. You can take photos even during the service. It would be great pleasure if you come to our dormitory.
