GAP students and host family had a cultural exchange activity(Nov. 10th)

2013-11-13 |  with Students

We gathered at Fujimi-kuminkan, a tatami mat room, and join weaving cloth sandals for around two and a half an hour.

The teacher, Miss Kamata was so kind to show the procedures from its first step to the Finishing.

We have prepared all materials and tools required and  already done the first step to the third row which is the most important and complicated work.

The participants chose their favorite strip of clothes of various colors and patterns.

Every students and families had made their very own cloth sandals at the end of this event.

They also had a break time with a matcha green tea and Japanese sweets( jyo-namagashi).

Japanese sweets represent the flowers, the plants and the leaves of the autumn season which are so nice to eyes, as well its taste.

“Nuno-zouri” is very comfortable for your foot, as well great for environment !!

You can use old cloth materials such as t-shirts, yukata, or bed sheets.

The students and their families looked very satisfied with their own sandals.

                        M.M.

You completed a number of nice points there. I did a search on the issue and found nearly all people will have the same opinion with your blog.
