海外技術者研修協会 Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship 、AOTSは、海外の産業技術研修者の受け入れ、研修等を行う組織として昭和34年、1959年に設立された。
なお、現在は、平成24年、2012年、海外貿易開発協会（JODC）と合併し、海外産業人材育成協会となった。

＞2012年3月30日、海外技術者研修協会(AOTS)と海外貿易開発協会(JODC)は合併し、財団法人海外産業人材育成協会 (英文名The Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association、略称 HIDA[ハイダ])となりました。これまでAOTSが行ってきた「海外産業技術者への研修」は「AOTS事業部」が事業を継続いたします。AOTS事業部は、1959年（昭和34年）8月に日本で最初の民間による技術協力機関として通商産業省（現・経済産業省）の認可を受け、設立された財団法人海外技術者研修協会（AOTS）の研修事業を行う事業部です。これまでに日本で実施した研修には、2010年度（平成22年度）までに世界170カ国から延べ162,000人余りが参加したほか、海外で実施した研修にも延べ189,000人余りが参加しました。 JODC事業部は1979年より我が国の民間企業が有する技術等を活用し、アジアを中心とする開発途上国の現地企業及び日系企業の人材育成・技術移転を目的とするODA事業の一環として、60ヶ国に約6,800名の専門家を派遣しています。また、進出日系中小企業が直面している課題への対応等に関する情報を提供しています。
We are pleased to announce the start of The Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association (HIDA) on March 30, 2012, established by the merger of AOTS and JODC. The AOTS Department of HIDA promotes technical cooperation through training inside and outside of Japan, which was former implemented by the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) before the merger with JODC. AOTS was established in 1959 with the support of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (which is the present Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry: METI) as the first technical cooperation organization on a private basis in Japan.The total number of participants having received training in Japan has reached more than 162,000, representing 170 countries from around the world, while the total number of participants in AOTS training activities in overseas countries exceeded 189,000-mark in fiscal 2010. JODC dispatches highly qualified Japanese experts to developing countries mainly in the Asian region, with the support of Japanese private businesses and organizations, in order to assist those countries in human resource development and as a part of the Japan’s Official Development Assistance to promote the technological transfer, with the cumulative number of 6,800 experts in 60 countries since 1979. We also provide the information of stories about management challenge-solving efforts by the Japan’s Small or Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in their overseas activities.
