BBC Guinea-Bissau: Many dead after coup attempt, president says 2 Feb 2022

「A reported coup in the West African state of Guinea-Bissau has left many members of the security forces dead, its president says.

Umaro Cissoko Embalo said the situation was under control, calling it a "failed attack against democracy".

Gunfire erupted near a government building on Tuesday in the capital Bissau where the president was reportedly attending a cabinet meeting.」

「West African regional leaders described the incident as a coup attempt and urged troops to return to barracks.

But what happened remains unclear: it is not yet known who the gunman were and the president did not give an exact figure for those killed.」

BBC Ecowas condemns 'attempted coup' in Guinea-Bissau 2 Feb 2022

「Ecowas, the regional bloc promoting political and economic co-operation in West Africa, has condemned what it calls an "attempted coup" in Guinea-Bissau, and is urging the military to return to its barracks.」

「It follow reports of men in civilian clothing opening fire close to a government building hosting a meeting between the president and prime minister of Guinea-Bissau, whose whereabouts remain unknown.」

　反乱側が平服だったとか、割とガチ目に交戦しているとか。いつものクーデターの雰囲気とちょっと違うなあ、という感じはする。
　もっとも「いつものクーデター」と言うのもなんだが。
　なんにせよ、西アフリカ～中央アフリカあたりでクーデターの季節になってしまった感がある。あまり不安定なのは困るなあと思う。
