What Is God’s Will Behind Frequent Disasters?

Nowadays, the report of disasters becomes the breaking news on TV, newspapers and some other media. Disasters grow worse and worse and spread more and more widely. Seeing the frequent disasters, have you ever thought about such a question: What is the will of God behind these disasters?

Look back to Noah’s time. People at the time lived in sin, killed one another, and became licentious by nature; they were corrupt and filthy to an extent God couldn’t bear to see, so eventually, God’s wrath befell upon them and they were destroyed by a flood. Nowadays, people of the last days don’t worship true God but false gods and evil spirits; people fight and scheme against each other and they do so both openly and covertly; the trends of society have become more evil and corrupt. The Lord once prophesied, “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matthew 24:37). It shows that when people of the last days are as corrupt as people of Noah’s time, the Lord comes back. Then if the Lord truly returns, how should we welcome Him?

Let’s take a look at more verses. “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:12-13). “For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son” (John 5:22). “And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go you out to meet him” (Matthew 25:6). From these verses, we can see that the Lord will return to express the truth and do the work of judgment. When we hear someone shout God comes, only those who listen for God’s voice can welcome the Lord. As for those who don’t pay attention to listening to God’s voice, they just passively wait and don’t seek or investigate it, so they are easily abandoned by the Lord.
