I heard the noisy sound of cicada.
I wondered where the cicada was.
So I came up to the sound.
At last I could see a 'large brown cicada';(a-bu-ra-ze-mi) on the branch of a 'dogwood';(ha-na-mi-zu-ki).
There was a snail beside the cicada.
I took this picture yesterday afternoon in my yard.
I could see many castoff skins of cicada at Inari-shrine near my house.While I was taking this picture in the evening, my legs were bitten by the mosquitoes because I was wearing a short culotte skirt.
I should have worn a pair of trousers to protect my legs !!
I happened to see a big 'soft-shelled turtle';(Su-ppo-n) yesterday evening while I was taking a walk with my friend .
It was caught by an old couple who were dipping water with a ladle from a brook to water their vegetables.
The size was about 20 centimeters long.
It was the biggest one that I had ever seen.
Soft-shelled turtle is very nutritious and valuable food , so the price is very high.
So they said they would present it to their friend who liked eating the turtle.
I've never eaten a turtle before and will not eat in the future.
But the one who will eat this one would become very vigorous !!
There is a saying in Japan.
'The crane lives for 1000 years and the turtle 10000';(Tsu-ru wa se-n-ne-n , ka-me wa ma-n-nen).
In fact, it is said this kind of turtle seems to live for about 100 years.
I can see three baby swallows in the nest now.
Every time their parents swallows bring food to them, they cry hard to get it.
The noise of their crying is heard from early morning till evening.
But soon they will be able to fly in the air and leave the nest.
Baby swallows are growing day by day.I saw their pretty faces with yellow beak appearing from the nest today.
Now swallows are feeding their baby birds busily many many times a day.Every time their parents fly to the nest, the baby birds cries loudly to get food.
I'm not sure but there seems to be three or four birds in the nest.
Soon I will be able to see pretty birds flying from the nest.
Only when thier parents fly to the nest, I can see the faces of the baby appearing from the nest.
But when I go near the nest to take pictures, the parents are cautious about flying to the nest.
So it's difficult to take pictures of baby.
There are many ducks in the pond near my house.They don't run away even if we approach to them.
People around the pond feed them so they seem to be familiar to men.
I sometimes see frogs these days.
This frog was on the boiler which is warm.
It didn't move very much yet.

Two insects were on the flower.I don't know the name of these insects.
The flowere is the one of dogwood.
We will see various kinds of insects in summer.
Taking pictures of birds is very difficult for me.
But I happened to be able to take these flying swallows.
At first I tried to take birds that had perched on electric wire, but I couldn't as they flew away soon.
As a result I could take this one.
These are the nests of swallows.They make their nests near the ceiling to keep the eggs from snakes, sparrows and so on.
Now there are two nests in my house.
One is in the storehouse and the other is at the entrance of the other building.
I can see a tail of a swallow in the nest of a storehouse.
They must be warming the eggs now.

Seeing the swallows, I feel the comming of early summer.
There are a few nests of the swallow in my house.
They lay about five or six eggs at a time and raise them twice or three times each year.

He is keeping them in the pool in the yard.
It is covered with some nets to keep the fish from cats or birds and so on.
He said the large ones were about twenty years old.
It was so windy that there were waves on the surface of the water.
So I couldn't take clear pitures of the fish.

There is a pond in the yard of 'Shi-zu-ta-ni ga-kko-u'.

Suddenly I could see a red big carp jump up from the water, but I regret to say I couldn't take a picture of it.
