Lee Kwon (formerly of AFTERSCHOOL) may have a big impact...
イ・カウン(元AFTERSCHOOL)が活躍する可能性…

AFTERSCHOOL's Lee Kwon, who gained attention on "PRODUCE 48", ends her contract with her agency, and says hello to fans: "This will be the most difficult letter I've ever written"

★"Hello. This is Kwon. I'm writing to you after a long time. I don't know where to start...

I don't know if I can fully express my gratitude and apologies...

This will be the most difficult letter I've ever written.

First of all, I'm sorry to the fans who are upset by the news of my contract ending for not being able to perform on many stages with me. I also thank you for your continued support.

The time I spent with my fans after debuting as AFTERSCHOOL's Kwon was a dreamlike and happy time. I'm grateful that the people who shared such happy times with me were my members (unnies).

And to CEO Han Sung Soo and all the Pledis staff who allowed me to live my life as AFTERSCHOOL's Kwon! Thank you for taking good care of me and watching over me.

I will continue to work hard with gratitude in my heart!

From now on, I will meet you all as Lee Kaeun, not Gaeun of AFTERSCHOOL, but I will never forget the time we spent together.

I will continue to be grateful for everyone's feelings and do my best to see you all more often!

I will try to show you a better side of me. I will become a better person. Please continue to be with me. Thank you. I love you.

From Kaeun"

Gaeun joined AFTERSCHOOL as a new member in April 2012.

The following year, AFTERSCHOOL made a comeback and aimed to regain their popularity.

However, the K-POP boom that had been booming in Japan had passed its peak and was heading for a slump.

The group went on hiatus without any notable results. The members had no choice but to thrive through solo activities.

In the boy group scene, SEVENTEEN and NU'EST, with Minhyun returning, are starting to make high-anticipated appearances.

However, girl groups are not doing well.

The only one who has an image of being successful is Orange Caramel, consisting of Rain, Nana, and Lizzy.

Orange Caramel was successful by transforming the coolness of its members into cuteness.

However, because they became a humorous girl group, it was difficult for them to remain popular through music itself.

It is difficult to aim for girl crush music with tall, stylish members. Am I the only one who thinks that PRISTIN's failure is similar to AFTERSCHOOL's...?

If you want to compete with tall members, I think it would be better to have a 4-5-person group that can express their individuality through singing, dancing, and rapping.

Both AFTERSCHOOL and PRISTIN failed due to strategic mistakes by their agencies.

Although they were fairly well-known as idols, they left Pledis as trainees.

Because they were too well-known, it was difficult for Lee Kwon to make a fresh start.

She will move to another agency and be made the leader of a group of 4-5 girls, like SISTAR. I think there is still a chance that she will be successful there.
