They're also the No.1 young talent! MAMAMOO kicks off their first promotion in Japan since their debut...Starting today (6th) in Tokyo they'll be holding autograph sessions and photo sessions

Girl group MAMAMOO will be making their first foray into Japan since their debut.

MAMAMOO will be holding their first official promotion since their debut in Tokyo for three days from the 6th to the 8th of this month.

On the 6th they'll be holding various events at Tower Records Shibuya, including a fan autograph session, handshake session and photo session.

The next day, on the 7th, they'll be holding a showcase at Shinagawa Intercity Hall in Tokyo.

They'll be performing hit songs such as "Decalcomanie," the title track from MAMAMOO's 4th mini album, "You're Best at Everything," "I miss you," "PIANO MAN," "1cm of self-esteem," and "Um Oh Ah Yeh."

Fun events are also being prepared for them to interact with Japanese fans.

On the final day, the 8th, they will hold a public promotion consisting of various events such as a mini live concert, talk, handshake event, autograph session, and photo session at Venus Fort, where many K-pop stars have held promotions, and will be able to interact closely with fans.

MAMAMOO's side said, "Even though we haven't started official promotions yet, we have been inundated with inquiries about casting calls from Japanese magazines, media, and radio to cover this promotion, and there has been a lot of interest from local fans and music industry people in Japan."

(From K-POP News)

This is a group that sings with amazing power.

When you listen to their songs, you can feel that they have outstanding singing ability among young girls.

I wouldn't say that I am attracted to their singing ability.

However, I am certain that I find myself listening to their music without refusing it when it flows into my ears.

In short, I have never listened to their music on repeat, so I am a little surprised that they came to Japan for a promotional event.

I wonder if they have that many fans in Japan already.

I know that they have a fair number of female fans on stage in Korea.

You can certainly get the feeling that they are gaining popularity from watching their performances.

Perhaps the female fans who support them feel a sense of sympathy with their powerful singing voices.

In any case, it is certain that they have gained a certain level of popularity in Korea.

That is understandable, but what about in Japan?

What kind of fan base do they have?

On Twitter and elsewhere, you can see many comments from people who are attracted to MAMAMOO's music.

Since they are planning to do promotional activities in Japan, it is somewhat obvious that they have female fans of that kind.

The question is how many fans they have. The majority of K-POP fans are women. The core of those fans appear to be in their teens and twenties.

Based on MAMAMOO's music, I would guess that it is women in their twenties who are attracted to their music. I think they are people who have listened to a lot of different music, and when they discover their music, they finally feel like they have arrived. When I think about it, I feel like MAMAMOO doesn't have that many fans...

With visuals like this, it seems like they won't be able to attract many male fans. In that case, they will have to rely on their singing ability, but Apink, which Eunji is in, has become popular not only because of their singing ability, but also because of their looks.

What will happen to MAMAMOO, who rely solely on singing ability?

The question is how much the power of their live singing, without the aid of TV broadcasts, will appeal to fans up close...I wonder if they will be able to find fans who understand that...

But even so, the more I write, the more empty my words seem. Sigh...

It will be a tightrope-walking stage, as they will be unable to grasp the audience, but I hope they can get through it.
