ポール全公演中止が決定 体調回復せず

体調不良で東京・国立競技場公演を２日間とも中止したポール・マッカートニー（７１）が
2014(平成26)年05月21日(水)の日本武道館公演、
2014(平成26)年05月24日(土)の大阪・ヤンマースタジアム長居公演を含めた全公演を中止することが
2014(平成26)年05月20日(火)、決まった。

2014(平成26)年05月17日(土)の公演延期の際に発表した「ウイルス性炎症」による体調不良が回復せず、
2014(平成26)年05月19日(月)、引き続き静養に専念すべきとの医師の判断の結果を受けた。これを受けてアーティスト側、招へい元および日本公演主催各社で協議を重ね、ここで無理してステージに立つよりも、ポール本人の完全な体調回復を最優先すべきと判断した。今後は、ポール本人も希望している早期再来日公演の実現に向けて協議していく。チケットに関しては、

◎当初、2014(平成26)年5月17日(土)に国立競技場で行う予定だった公演においては、ステージが設営され、グッズ販売も実施されるなど準備が整えられていたが、同日の開場直前になって、ポール本人の急病により急遽中止となった。
2014(平成26)年5月19日(月)に振替公演を行うとし、
2014(平成26)年5月17日(土)のチケットはそのまま有効となると発表された（希望者にはチケットの払い戻しも実施）。この時点では、
翌2014(平成26)年5月18日(日)以降の公演は予定通り行うとされていた。しかし
2014(平成26)年5月18日(日)も前日と同じく開場直前になって中止が発表され、延期で開催される予定であった
翌2014(平成26)年5月19日(月)の公演についても中止となった。この発表があった直後、招聘元であるキョードー東京は「延期」と表現していたが数時間後に「中止」と訂正した。ただし、チケットの払い戻しは一度停止されていたことから、事実上「日程未定の延期」となった。この時点では日本武道館公演とヤンマースタジアム長居公演は予定通り実施するとしていた。
2014(平成26)年5月20日(火)になって、キョードー東京は「日本武道館公演、ヤンマースタジアム長居公演を含めた全公演を中止する」と発表された。

†2014(平成26)年6月09日(月)までチケットの払い戻しに応じた[19]。
◎別項記述の通り、この再来日公演直後に予定されていた初の韓国公演（ソウルオリンピック主競技場）、6月に予定されていたアメリカでの7公演についても並行して中止が発表された。この後、アメリカの7公演については同年10月に振り返られ、後に開催された。国立競技場はすでに
2014(平成26)年5月31日(土)で改築に伴う使用停止が決まっていたためこれ以上の延期ができず、「幻の国立競技場公演」となってしまった。
◎キョードー東京はポールの病名を「ウイルス性炎症」と発表。詳細については公表されなかった。
2014(平成26)年5月23日(金)、ポール側は都内の病院で治療を受け順調に回復していることを明らかにするが[20]、その後も報道は過熱。日刊ゲンダイは、ポールが腸閉塞を発症し緊急手術を受けていたと報道[21]。また産経新聞は、腸捻転により緊急手術を受けていたと報じた[22]。招聘元関係者の一人である湯川れい子は、自身のTwitterで、これらの報道は公式発表ではなく、本人は回復して次のツアーに備えていることを強調。詳細については守秘義務のために公表できない状況であることを認めた[23]。

2014(平成26)年5月26日(月)にホテルをチェックアウトし、空港へ直行してチャーター機で離日した[19]。出国は極秘に行われ、渡航先も公表されなかったが、翌27日にロンドンでナンシー夫人と散歩している姿がパパラッチによって撮影され、イギリスに帰国していたことが判明した[24]。
◎キョードー東京は再来日公演が開催直前に中止となったことや、主催者発表の大幅な遅れ、情報が二転三転したことを謝罪した。この一連の動きの後、ポール本人も希望している早期の来日公演実現に向けて協議が行われ、翌年の再来日が実現している。

クオリーメン (Quarrymen) の最初のライヴ演奏からひと月もたたないうちに、彼らはABCテレビのタレントショー「TVスターサーチ」にエントリーする。このショーはミスター･スターメーカーことキャロル･レヴィス (Carrol Levis) によって催されていた。このイベントはリヴァプールのエンパイア劇場 (Liverpool Empire Theatre) で開催された。ここは後年のビートルズが何度も花形スターを務める会場である。しかしこの時は地区予選で、同様のショーがリーバイスによって英国中で開催されていた。このバラエティーショーでは通常、出演者に対する謝礼は無かったが、観客には何らかのお礼をするのが普通だった。それは新人がその腕磨き、ひっとすれば発掘される機会と見られていたのである。クオリーメンはこの時はオーディションを通過しなかった。勝者はスピーク (Speke) から来たサニーサイド･スキッフル･グループ (Sunnyside Skiffle Group) だった。このグループは背丈が4フィート6インチしかない19歳のニッキー･カフ (Nickey Cuff) を売りものにしていた。彼は背が低いため、茶箱ベース (tea chest bass) を箱の上に乗って演奏した。クオリーメンが演奏した曲は「ウォリィド･マン･ブルース (Worried Man Blues)」というフォークソングで、スキッフルの王者ロニー･ドネガン (Ronnie Donegan) がリニューアルしてヒットしていた。クオリーメンはこのショーではこの時点で予選落ちしたが、その最終選考は

この日はビートルズのキャバーン･クラブのイブニング･ショーへの69回目の出演だった。このショーは、ハンブルグのスター･クラブ (Star-Club)での7週間の滞在から帰った直後だったため「Beatles Welcome Home Show」と名付けられた。この帰国祝賀ショーはキャバーン･クラブの入場者の記録を塗り替える。900人のファンがビートルズの演奏を見ようとこの地下会場に押し詰められた。彼らの他にもザ･レッド･リバー･ジャズメン (The Red River Jazzmen)、ヴィク＆ザ･スパイダーメン (Vic & The Spidermen)、ザ･フォー･ジェイズ (The Four Jays)、ケン･ダラス＆ザ･シルエッツ (Ken Dallas & The Silhouettes) が出演している。これは大成功だったので、キャバーンの所有者レイ･マクフォール (Lay McFall) はあわてて彼らの帰国公演としてブッキングし、ビートルズのショーはこれ以後12回、すべてキャバーン･クラブで開かれている。
◎ボブ･ウーラー (キャバーンDJ)『The Cavern』スペンサー･レイ ⇒ 彼らはハンブルグでの猛烈なセッションや移動で疲れてたと思うけど、そんなことはまったく感じさせなかった。あれは彼らの最高のパフォーマンスの1つだったね。
ランチタイムショーも含めると、彼らのキャバーン出演はこれが171回目だった。ビートルズのキャバーン･クラブへの正確な出演回数は判っていない。しかし1961年2月9日から1963年8月3日までの期間に、少なくともランチタイムショーで155回、イブニングショーで125回の演奏を行っている。

1957(昭和3)年06月09日(日) リヴァプールのエンパイア・シアターでクオリーメン最初の公式ステージ。キャロル・リービス主催のテレビ・タレント発掘のコンテストでの地区予選ステージで、ノー・ギャラでも喜んでステージに立ってくれるアーティスト達を集めた劇場向け低予算興行。クオリーメンは午後3時から行われた最初の予選を通過できなかった。
1960(昭和3)年06月09日(木) チェシャーのウィラルにあるクラブ「インスティチュート」に出演。
1961(昭和3)年06月09日(金) 2度の契約更新の後、2度目のハンブルグ巡業が4月1日より7月1日まで行われ、92日間、のべ503時間トップ・テン・クラブのステージに立つ。前回の最初のハンブルグ巡業と並んで、ビートルズのスタミナと実力を飛躍的に向上させた有意義な巡業となった。
1963(昭和3)年06月09日(日) 2月、3月に続いてなんとこの年3回目の全英ツアーが開始された。この日は最終日でブラックバーンのキング・ジョージズ・ホールが会場。ロイ・オービソンとのパッケージツアーで、ヘッド・ライナーはもちろんビートルズのメンバーの敬愛するロイであったが、観客の要望でまもなくビートルズがメインを務めることになる。さらに会場で販売されているプログラムの表紙もビートルズをメインとしたデザインに変更されることとなる。セットリスト「Some Other Guy」「Do You Want To Know A Secret」「Love Me Do」「From Me To You」「Please Please Me」「I Saw Her Standing There」「Twist And Shout」

Opening acts included the Maori Hi-Five -- a rock and roll showband from New Zealand, and Sounds Incorporated -- an instrumental back-up group utilized by singers such as Little Richard and Gene Vincent. Sounds Incorporated would tour frequently as opening act for the Beatles. A few years later in 1967, Sounds Incorporated would be invited by George Martin, at the insistance of John Lennon, to perform as the horn section on the track 'Good Morning Good Morning' for the Sgt. Pepper album

The page has a black and white head shot cut out from a music paper of both John and Paul stuck onto it. Measures 11cm x 9.5cm (4.25 inches x 3.75 inches). Comes with a detailed letter from the original recipient stating the autographs were obtained out side the Nottingham Odeon in May 1963. (The Beatles played the Odeon on the 23rd May 1963)"

On Saturday, May 18, 1963, The Beatles embarked on their third nationwide tour of Britain, supporting American singer-songwriter and rock pioneer Roy Orbison. Though Orbison began the tour as headliner, audience demand quickly necessitated a change in billing and The Beatles assumed the top spot. By the time the tour ended on
‡(sun)June 9, 1963, the band had played twenty dates with Orbison, who The Beatles idolized immensely.
On the sixth night of the tour -
(thu)May 23, 1963 - they played the Odeon Cinema on Angel Row in Nottingham. A page from this autograph book, still intact, was fully signed by all four Beatles that evening. While they signed numerous autograph books for fans in 1963, few have exhibited the kind of content showcased here.
Paul McCartney has written "Beatles" at the top, followed by the inscription: "To Sandra, with love, from me to you ... Paul McCartney XXX." Beneath his signature, he has added the word "BASS" as a reminder of his role in this up-and-coming group. George has signed "George Harrison XXX", adding the words "Lean Guitar XXX", writing "Lean" instead of "Lead" perhaps as a word play on his physical stature. John has written "John Lennon (a Friend) XXX" and Ringo has signed "Ringo Starr XXX".
McCartney's inscription "with love, from me to you" was an obvious reference to the McCartney-Lennon penned hit "From Me To You" which had been released as a Parlophone single in England just six weeks earlier, on
(thu)April 11, 1963. "From Me To You" was the first Beatles song to reach number one in Britain and it would be the first of eleven consecutive British number one singles by the group.
Beatles handwritten inscriptions that borrow lyric lines from their songs are very rare indeed and any additional writing (such as Paul and George noting the instruments they played or John's "heartwarming" addendum) add enormously to the appeal and value of a set. Considering the astronomical prices Beatles handwritten song manuscripts are fetching at auction, this set enables you to acquire a McCartney handwritten lyric line at a small fraction of the price of a full lyric page.
The signed page, which is pink in color, measures 4 ?" x 4". All four have signed this page in various ballpoint pens. Paul has used a dark blue ink, George and Ringo have used a lighter blue ink, while John has signed in black ink.
Part of the beauty of this autograph book is that it remains just as it has been for the past 45 years - completely intact and, consequently, a very special complete memento of a fan's quest to secure the signatures of her idols. There are no other notable autographs in the book.

Pete told me this was at The Grapes. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to tell. I've dated it Spring 1961 because of the hair styles. The Grapes was across the street from The Cavernand this time period was when The Beatles began playing regular gigs at The Cavern.

1974(昭和49)年6月メイ・パンと暮らすLAの借家で新曲のデモ録音。多くの曲はアルバム『心の橋、愛の壁』の収録曲となる。中にはリンゴに提供される「グッド・ナイト・ウィーン」も。（この時期、ジョンはNYにいたと思われ「LAの借家」というのは引用元のレココレ増刊「」ビートルズ・ソロ・ワークス」の間違いか？）
1974(昭和49)年6月『プシー・キャッツ』を完成させた後、『ロックン・ロール』のセッションを再開しようとしますが、フィルがLAで録音したテープを持ったまま行方不明状態に（オートバイ事故で入院していた）あったため断念。そこで書き溜めていた新曲を元にオリジナル・アルバム『心の壁、愛の橋Walls And Bridges』の録音に取り掛かります。キャピトルはジョンの子供時代に描いた画を使い『ロックン・ロール』のジャケを制作していましたが、むしろ新しいアルバムにぴったり来るということでジョンはこのデザインを『心の壁、愛の橋』に流用しようと考えます。しかしキャピトルはジョンのアルバムだとひと目でわかるポートレイトを使うことを主張し、それを呑んだジョンはメイ・パンを使ってフォト・セッションを行います。ところがアート・ディレクターの要望する写真が素人カメラマンであるメイ・パンのカメラでは取れないということになり、最終的にボブ・グルーエンによる写真がジョンの画とともに使用されることとなります。

クオリーメン、TVのタレントオーディションで演奏
1957年 (昭和32年) 6月09日 日曜
クオリーメン (Quarrymen) の最初のライヴ演奏からひと月もたたないうちに、彼らはABCテレビのタレントショー「TVスターサーチ」にエントリーする。このショーはミスター･スターメーカーことキャロル･レヴィス (Carrol Levis) によって催されていた。
このイベントはリヴァプールのエンパイア劇場 (Liverpool Empire Theatre) で開催された。ここは後年のビートルズが何度も花形スターを務める会場である。しかしこの時は地区予選で、同様のショーがリーバイスによって英国中で開催されていた。
このバラエティーショーでは通常、出演者に対する謝礼は無かったが、観客には何らかのお礼をするのが普通だった。それは新人がその腕磨き、ひっとすれば発掘される機会と見られていたのである。
クオリーメンはこの時はオーディションを通過しなかった。勝者はスピーク (Speke) から来たサニーサイド･スキッフル･グループ (Sunnyside Skiffle Group) だった。このグループは背丈が4フィート6インチしかない19歳のニッキー･カフ (Nickey Cuff) を売りものにしていた。彼は背が低いため、茶箱ベース (tea chest bass) を箱の上に乗って演奏した。
クオリーメンが演奏した曲は「ウォリィド･マン･ブルース (Worried Man Blues)」というフォークソングで、スキッフルの王者ロニー･ドネガン (Ronnie Donegan) がリニューアルしてヒットしていた。
クオリーメンはこのショーではこの時点で予選落ちしたが、その最終選考は1957年の6月17日と6月23日の2夜にまたがって開催された。
