"In the summer of 1967, two young girls from New York - Leslie Samuels and her friend, Donna Stark - visited London and set out to meet the Beatles. One afternoon they lucked out: both Paul McCartney and George Harrison were not only at home and open to a visit, but allowed the girls to run a tape. The result is unusual in that it shows McCartney & Harrison (who was also entertaining Klaus Voormann at his home) in a more casual mood that is not typically heard on press conferences and formal Interviews".

1961(昭和36)年06月22日(木)～24日(土)にビートルズはハンブルグで、トニー･シェリダン (Tony Sheridan) とのコラボで7曲をレコーディングしていた。それからちょうど11ヶ月を経たこの日、彼らはふたたびトニーともう2曲をテープに収めた。このレコーディング･セッションは、1961年のレコーディングをプロデュースしたベルト･ケンプフェルト (Bert Kaempfert) とビートルズがサインした契約に則ったものであった。ブライアン･エプスタインがビートルズのマネージャーとなって彼らのレコード契約を模索し始めた時、彼はビートルズはまだ法律的にはケンプフェルトとの契約下にあることを発見した。エプスタインとケンプフェルトは、ビートルズが次にハンブルグに戻って来た際に、もう一度シェリダンとのレコーディング･セッションに参加すれば、ビートルズはその契約から解放されることで合意していた。そのレコーディングがこの日、ハンブルグ・トンドルフ (Tonndorf, Hamburg) のラーラウ (Rahlau) 128番にあるスタジオ･ラールシュテッド (Studio Rahlstedt) で行われた。録音された曲は♪Swanee River♪と♪Sweet Georgia Brown♪で、後者はポール･マッカートニーによりアレンジされた。ビートルズの4人に加えて、非公式にスター･クラブ (Star-Club) で彼らと共演していたロイ･ヤング (Roy Young) がピアノで参加している。しかしトニー･シェリダンの方はこの日の録音ではOKとならず、

1964(昭和39)年01月03日(金)に、再度ヴォーカル部分を録音し直している。新しいバージョンは歌詞を変えてビートルズのことを歌っている。

1960(昭和35)年06月07日(火) リヴァプール界隈の場末ダンスホールで演奏していたシルヴァー・ビートルズ。時にはギャラがコーラとトーストの現物支給という場合もあった。マイクスタンドの無いステージもあり、その場合はガールフレンドたちが、モップなどの柄の先にマイクをくくりつけて支えていたという。
1961(昭和36)年06月07日(水) 2度の契約更新の後、2度目のハンブルグ巡業が4月1日より7月1日まで行われ、92日間、のべ503時間トップ・テン・クラブのステージに立つ。前回の最初のハンブルグ巡業と並んで、ビートルズのスタミナと実力を飛躍的に向上させた有意義な巡業となった。
1962(昭和37)年06月07日(木) EMIでの初めてのレコーディングを終えたビートルズは、この日リヴァプールに戻った。
1963(昭和38)年06月07日(金) ラナークシャーのグラスゴーにあるオデオン・シネマでロイ・オービソンとのパッケージ・ツアーによる公演。グラスゴーのファンは特に熱狂的だったため、ビートルズのメンバーはグラスゴーでは、特に楽しんで演奏していた。

ジミーニコルは１９６４年６月４日から１３日まで代役をやっていて、参加した国はオランダとオーストラリアだ。音源は12日のオーストラリア・アデレードのライブがラジオ放送されたことから、これのライン音源が出てる。ライブがどんな感じかと聞かれれば、慎重にプレーしてる、というのが印象だ。当然だが、リンゴのパートが無いので、演奏が１曲少ない。テンションが低いという感じではないが、丁寧に１つ１つ拾って演奏してるので、勢いはあまりない。ジミーのドラムは特に問題なく、丁寧に叩いてるかな

22.♪Ticket To Ride(涙の乗車券)♪ シングルとして、アルバムHELP!収録曲として発表されたジョンの作品。65年、BBC最後の出演となった特番でのテイクで、スタジオ・バージョンではポールが弾いていたギターのパートもジョージが担当。一方で、タンバリンがオーバー・ダビングされているのが面白いところ。
23.♪Dizzy Miss Lizzy♪ アルバムHELP!収録に収録されたジョンの歌うラリー・ウィリアムズのカバー。ライブではいつもデタラメな歌詞でこの曲を歌っていたジョンだが、ここでの歌詞の間違いはいつもに比べればマシな方。演奏もヨレヨレで決してよい演奏とはいえない。海賊盤などで聴けるライブ・バージョンなどの方が出来はよい。

コメント・・・1963年に書かれたビートルズ4人のサインです。
4人とも青のボールペンでサインを書いています。それぞれ”xxx”マークを書き入れています。
サインが書かれているのはスケジュール帳から切り離された1ページで
■1963年6月5日～8日■のページです。
サインはまだ字体が固まっていない頃のもので、1963年初頭に書かれたものだと思われます。
ビートルズは前年暮にドイツ巡業を終えたばかりで、1月のUKのツアーに出ていた頃です。
ビートルズ4人揃った貴重なサイン！紙のサイズは15cm x 9.5cm。
コンディションは、紙に多少のよれと経年黄ばみ、折りたたみ跡があります。
白黒写真と白黒ブロマイドが一緒に額装されています。額のサイズは60.5cm×47cm。
上の写真はサイズ20×25.4cm、サイン右横にブロマイド(13.5×17.4cm)。
