I went to look a Handkerchief Tree today.
That place is a yard of a reastaurant, SURUGAYA.
Handkerchif Tree is fallen leaves tree growing wild only in the western part from the central part in China.
It grows in locally on sunny wet slopes of place above the sea level 1200-2000m.
A flower looked like one flower, but, as for the white part which we see to a petal, the part which it wrapped a flower in grew up.
A pistil is yellowish green, and a stamen has variation from a dahlia to milky-white.
It is about 1,952 (Showa 27) age that Handkerchif Tree was introduced into Japan first.
From 1,958 (Showa 33) years to 1,959 (Showa 34) years, they were imported few fruit in a Koishikawa Botanical Garden and a Nikko Botanical Garden.
Although imported seedlings were few, they were planted in a botanical garden of each place and personal's house by 1,965 (Showa 40) age.
A large quantity of young plants and seeds were imported through association of Japanese garden plant by a Chinese Scientific House and it was wide and, from 1,991 (Heisei 3) age, came to spread.

ハンカチというより、飾りのついた白いリボンのよう。
名付けって、最初に見た人の印象で決まるのでしょうか？ブラシの木なんて、あの真っ赤な花（？）に免じてもう少し情熱的な名前にして欲しかった。
でも、やっぱりブラシ・・・かな

はじめて見たのは新宿御苑。それから小石川植物園、東大の付属農場。そしてイギリスはコッツヲルズでした。
それがなんと我家の近くに咲いているとは・・・。
駿河屋のお味は？
こんなに美しく咲いているのですね。
この季節に駿河屋さんに行くのをずっと楽しみにしていたのに・・・
また１年待ちます。

こんなにいっぱい 咲いてる所を見たのは初めてです！園芸店で2～3個咲いてる小さな苗木を見た事があるのですが 感激です。

I think the flower which you looked at a flower shop is KONRONKA maybe.
When Handkerchief tree is grow up 2-3meters, this flower come into blossom.
This white flower is very cute, isn\'t it ?
