PTFE Convoluted Hose

2018-01-17 14:10:06 | PTFE
Standard seamless PTFE braided hoses are extremely lightweight, flexible and kink resistant. Convoluted Fluoropolymer PTFE hoses are less susceptible to cracking from stress or flexing than metal hoses or other fluoropolymer hoses when used within designated operating parameters.

Expanded PTFE Sheet

2018-01-16 15:54:48 | PTFE Sheet
Expanded PTFE Sheet is a high performance sheet gasket material made of multi-directionally expanded virgin PTFE. It is a soft, form-in-place gasket material that conforms to almost any sealing surface. It is capable of withstanding a wide range of pressure, temperature and chemical environments. Due to its highly fibrillated microstructure, it has excellent creep resistance compared with other PTFE products.
Expanded PTFE Sheet
Expanded PTFE sheet is an extremely compressible material manufactured from 100% virgin PTFE. It is a food approved product and has excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals, making it a popular sealing material in the food, drink and pharmaceutical industries.
Temperature: -240°C to +270°C (briefly up to +315°C)
Key Features: Very soft, extremely compressible and has excellent resistance to many chemicals. It can withstand compressive loads of over 40,000 psi without losing sealing capability. It is also unaffected by ozone, UV and corona and does not become brittle with age.
100% pure expanded PTFE sheet has a microporous fibrous structure unique mechanical properties. Widely used for sealing flange joints in pipelines as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Pure, multidirectionally expanded PTFE, asbestos free, chemically resistant to fluids from 0 to 14 in the pH range.

Expanded PTFE Round Rope

PTFE is a very useful material because it has a unique combination of properties. PTFE is chemically inert, weatherable, excellent electrical insulation, high temperature resistance, a low coefficient of friction and non-adhesive properties.
Expanded PTFE Round Rope
Valve-spindle cord made of pure expanded PTFE, used as valve-spindle and flange seals in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food processing industries. Flanges are sealed quickly and securely by simple insertion of a ring of PTFE round cord (ends twisted).

PTFE Membrane

2018-01-13 16:16:46 | PTFE
PTFE membrane filters are naturally hydrophobic with excellent chemical resistance, making them the ideal choice for sterile venting of gases*, non-aqueous solvents, acids, and aggressive fluids.
PTFE Membrane
  • Thin, highly porous membrane filter
  • Behaves as an absolute retentive membrane
  • Inert to most agressive solvents, including strong acids and bases
  • Operating temperature range: -120~260°C
  • Use to sterilize gasses, vent gas from aqueous solutions, or sterilize or clarify aggressive chemicals
PTFE membranes are hydrophobic in nature and are effective barriers to microbes and particulate matter. The high titer reduction and water intrusion pressures allow the membrane to repel high surface tension liquids while venting gases. PTFE membranes are used in a variety of healthcare applications such as vents on IV filters and spike vents, protecting equipment and sensors from fluids and contamination. Material characteristics include broad chemical compatibility, excellent particle retention, easy handling and sealing, and compatibility with various sterilizing methods, making it a versatile material for applications which require a hydrophobic barrier. Whether you need to keep fluid confined while letting air or gas pass,  or a sterile barrier, PTFE is the ideal membrane.
The laminated membranes are thicker for easy handling. These filters are chemically and biologically inert, stable up to 260°C (500°F) and naturally hydrophobic; they are very useful for aerosol sampling, air venting, and gas filtration, especially in environments also containing water vapor.

PTFE Carbon Rod

2018-01-12 15:42:18 | PTFE Rod
PTFE Carbon Filled has good chemical resistance to corrosive environments, has better creep and wear resistance compared to standard PTFE materials. These properties are improved with the addition of a carbon filler. This filler improves dimensional stability, raises the heat deflection temperature, improves creep resistance and the dynamic bearing performance. PTFE Carbon-Filled exhibits good initial wear and rubbing/sliding contact characteristics in both dry and wet/water applications. It is frequently used in piston rings to reduce cylinder wall wear by entrapping abrasive foreign particles in their relatively soft surfaces.
PTFE Carbon Rod
Carbon Filled PTFE was developed to provide a PTFE based material with improved mechanical strength.
PTFE on its own has excellent frictional properties, elasticity and wear resistance but relatively poor mechanical strength and tends to fail in high PV applications.
Carbon in itself is a brittle material with poor wear properties and mechanical strength. However with the two combined in Carbon Filled PTFE formulations, the resultant material has excellent mechanical and wear properties, retains the excellent frictional properties and is an excellent choice for seals and rings in dynamic and high pressure applications.
Carbon filled PTFE also provides good thermal conductivity, low permeability and is also electrically conductive making it a good choice for anti-static applications.
The most common carbon filled PTFE composition is 75% Virgin PTFE with 25% Carbon powder by weight.
When a filler ratio or type is unspecified, it is fair to assume this is the material. However it doesn’t tell the whole story. The type and percentage of carbon added to PTFE is a variable and is critical to material performance.
It can be as little as 0.2% and as much as 40%. Different percentages of carbon will
