In response to North Korea's test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of reaching the U.S. mainland, South Korea's defense minister said on April 1, "If there are clear signs of a missile launch, (South Korea) has the capability and readiness to strike launch sites and command and support facilities with precision."
