みなさま、こんにちは。ブログ担当のYokoです。この度、障害児の母親たちで立ち上げたクラフトクラブ。Let Gem Shine.大人になった子供たちの有意義な時間作りの提案が目標です。本格的は活動は来年からになりますが、９月に行ったバーベキュー大会で、作品を展示しました。

Hello, everyone. I amYoko.Welcome to my blog. This time, I would like to propose Let Gem Shine, an arts and crafts club for mothers of special needs adult children, as a way for these adult children to spend time doing something meaningful and productive. 

Although this club will start in earnest next year, in September of this year I presented some artistic creations at a barbecue event.

とても器用な直樹くんの作品。自分でデザインした絵をお母様がビーズ編みの図案に書き直し、彼が作ったものです。
展示ブースの端っこに座って、黙々とあたらしい作品を作っていました。ものすごい集中力。

These items were created by Naoki, who has very nimble fingers. He made a drawing of his design, his mother made a beadwork pattern from his drawing, then

he made the item by himself.

He sat at one end of the exhibit booth and quietly continued to make onenew item after another. He has a really great ability to concentrate.

卵の殻の中にラベンダーのポプリを入れてからピンキングハサミで切った布を貼り付けました。

Next, I put lavender potpourri inside an eggshell then affixed cloth that I cut using pinking shears.

古いシーツをTie-Dyeしてからひも状に裂き編んだものです。

Here is the result after I tie-dyed an old shirt, tore it into threads and then knitted the threads.

折り紙で鶴を折ってから固める液を塗り、ピアスに仕立てました。

Here I folded origami cranes and coated them with a hardening agent to create pierced earrings.

布ぞうりを編む台をくぎを使い作ってみました。

Here I tried to use pegs to make a table for knitting cloth flip-flops.

手作りのグリーティングカード。色々なパーツを組み合わせて心のこもったカードに仕上げます。

Hand-made greeting cards. I combined various hearts together to make truly heart-felt cards.

来年の２月から毎月１回、クラフト作りの会を始めます。
この他にも紙すきの作業も検討中。
さらには空き缶、ペットボトルのリサイクルで材料の資金調達も予定しております。
みなさま、牛乳パック、空き缶、ペットボトル、古い大人用のTーシャツを募集中です。

I will start an arts and crafts club that will meet monthly starting in February of next year.

I am also considering doing paper making in addition to the regular club meetings.

Furthermore, I am planning to recycle empty cans and plastic bottlesto collect

money that will be used to buy materials for the club.

Right now, I am collecting any empty milk cartons, empty cans, plastic bottles, and

old adult-sized t-shirts you may have.
