Red Velvet's Irene takes the top spot in girl group individual brand reputation, beating out Girls' Generation's Yoona and Taeyeon!

The results of a big data analysis of Korean girl group individual brands in November 2017 showed that Red Velvet's Irene came in first, Girls' Generation's Yoona in second, and TWICE's Jeongyeon in third.

To analyze the big data on girl group individual brand reputation, the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute analyzed the brand big data of 283 girl group members measured from October 16 to November 17, 2017, and measured the participation index, media index, communication index, community index, and reputation index for girl group brands.

The brand reputation index is an index created through brand big data analysis, finding that consumers' online habits have a significant impact on brand consumption. The Girl Group Brand Reputation Index measures positive and negative evaluations of girl groups, media interest, and consumer interest and communication.

In November, the top spot for girl group individual brand reputation was taken by Red Velvet's Irene, followed by Girls' Generation's Yoona, TWICE's Jeongyeon, TWICE's Sana, EXID's Hani, TWICE's Nayeon, TWICE's Tzuyu, TWICE's Momo, EXID's Solji, TWICE's Dahyun, TWICE's Jihyo, Seohyun (formerly of Girls' Generation), TWICE's Chaeyoung, Miss A's Suzy, TWICE's Mina, gugudan's Sejong, Red Velvet's Seulgi, DIA's Chaeyoung, gugudan's Hana, EXID's Junghwa, GFRIEND's SinB, Apink's Naeun, Girl's Day's Mina, Red Velvet's Joy, gugudan's Mina, EXID's LE, GFRIEND's Eunha, AOA's Jimin, GFRIEND's Yuju, and Red Velvet's Yeri.

Director Goo Chang-hwan of the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute analyzed, "According to the results of the November 2017 girl group individual brand reputation analysis, Red Velvet's Irene was ranked first. Irene, who was ranked third last month, has returned to first place. Girls' Generation's Yoona has risen from fourth place last month to second place. TWICE released a new song and its members ranked in the top ranks, and members of EXID, who released a new song with Sexy Girl Crush, also ranked in the top ranks." He continued, "In the link analysis for Red Velvet's Irene, 'gorgeous', 'pretty', and 'thank you' were high, and in the keyword analysis, 'Red Velvet', 'photo', and 'Peek-A-Boo' were high. In the analysis of the positive and negative ratio, the positive ratio was 73.54%." (From K-POP News) According to the results of the big data analysis of Korean girl group individual brands in November 2017, it is clear that TWICE members are well known in Korea.

I was surprised to see Irene (Red Velvet) in first place.

She has pushed her senior in the same agency, Yoona (Girls' Generation), into second place.

I thought Yoona's brand power would be unshakable for a while,

Especially within the same agency.

Recently, three members (Seohyun, Sooyoung, and Tiffany) left Girls' Generation without renewing their contracts with SM.

Girls' Generation is now a small girl group with five members, including leader Taeyeon and Yoona.

Even though Girls' Generation is ranked higher within SM, it seems that they have finally been overtaken by Red Velvet in terms of momentum.

I wonder how reliable this data analyzed by the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute should be.

Since the rankings have changed within SM, there should be no offense to anyone.

But are the numbers really accurate? Even if Jeongyeon (TWICE), who came in third, had slightly higher numbers than first place, it seems like they were being considerate and gave the spot to Irene to play it safe.

If the numbers were about the same, there wouldn't be any medals, so it could be said that either one won...

Enough serious talk. TWICE's Jeongyeon is in third place, behind the two from SM.

That's not all from TYICE. Sana comes in fourth, followed by Nayeon (6th), Tzuyu (7th), Momo (8th), Dahyun (10th), Jihyo (11th), Chaeyoung (13th), and Mina (15th), who all finish out the rest.

Of the top 15, only six members from other groups have made it into the top 15.

In other words, TWICE is in the lead.

Is this even possible?

It's public, so I guess it's possible.

The only groups that have multiple members from other groups in the top positions are Girls' Generation (Yuna, Seohyun) and EXID (Hani, Solji).

The only other group with multiple members in the top positions is Suzy (Miss A) due to her individual popularity.

Some people are loudly proclaiming that TWICE's popularity has already peaked.

There are also persistent voices that say that they are only in urban areas like Seoul and do not have nationwide popularity.

However, these are clear-cut assumptions or delusions.

Looking at this data, it is probably safe to say that TWICE (including its members) are well-known throughout the country.

A little about Irene in first place...Every time I see her on stage, I think she is one of the most representative K-pop visuals.
