I immediately went to YouTube and watched IVE's debut song MV "ELEVEN".
I know that Wonyoung and Eugene's skills are high. Since there are two core members, even if the other members' skills are inferior, everyone's visuals are high and the music video will definitely come out passable.
I thought the problem was the quality of the songs.
After watching the "ELEVEN" MV, my impressions are that the members' visuals and dance are not bad. However, there comes a point in the middle when the song shifts, the tempo changes, and you lose your groove. It's a common technique in R&B music, but in this song I felt like it took away from the mood.
Although I got used to it after listening to it over and over again, I felt that a straight song with a good rhythm would have been better (?) in order to bring out the members' visuals.
The poor rhythm of the song is holding the members back. Is the quality of the music as a whole, including the performance, poor?
While I was thinking about this while searching YouTube, I came across an information screen for IVE's "Showcase Live."
The "ELEVEN" live stage was just about to begin.
Just right. MVs are created by connecting music and dance with other visual images. The quality of the contents will vary depending on how the parts are connected.
On that point, there are no lies or exaggerations on the live stage. The only thing that matters is Nao's workmanship (lip sync aside).
I realized that the live stage performance of "ELEVEN" wasn't as exciting as I felt in the MV. The more I thought about it, ``In fact, it's a song with a good vibe.''
Once they were satisfied with the problem of groove, the "ELEVEN" stage suddenly became more glamorous. Wonyoung's expressive dance, Eugene's powerful singing voice, and Liz, Lay, Ga Eul, and Yi Seo's individuality and performance have all stood out.
The high-quality visuals, wonderful singing voice, and careful, soft dance that utilizes everything from fingers to toes make the beautiful form of the body stand out as if it were a photograph taken at a moment in time. I guess dance is alive because I can't get sucked into the rhythm of the music.
By the way, I happened to see the music video of EVERGLOW, who made a comeback, and I felt that their dance was carried away by the rhythm of the music.
It was a contrasting impression to IVE's dance.
