Lovelyz confirms second solo concert "Alwayz" in July

Girl group Lovelyz will hold their second solo concert.

Lovelyz will meet fans at the "2017 LOVELYZ CONCERT [Alwayz]" at the Olympic Hall in Seoul Olympic Park from July 29th to 30th.

This is six months after their first solo concert in January last year, which is unusually fast for a girl group.

"2017 LOVELYZ CONCERT [Alwayz]" is an upgraded version of the first concert, and they will present a differentiated stage with a more diverse repertoire and performance, giving fans another special memory.

Previously, Lovelyz held their first solo concert "Lovelyz in Winter Country" in January, and it ended successfully with overwhelming support, with male audiences accounting for 80% of the audience, and all seats were sold out for three days.

Advance tickets for the second solo concert will open to fan club members on the online ticketing website INTERPARK at 8pm on the 21st, and to the general public at 8pm on the 23rd.

Lovelyz will be taking on their second solo concert, 2017 LOVELYZ CONCERT [Alwayz].

If it was a year, it would be different, but doing it after six months is certainly unusually fast.

At their first concert earlier this year, 80% of the audience were male fans, and all the seats were sold out for three days.

I knew they had a lot of male fans.
But I'm in awe of the figure of 80%.

No, for some reason, I'm worried about that.

I'm happy that their popularity is increasing.

Because increasing popularity and improving quality as an idol are usually the same thing.

The cause of concern is that as their popularity increases, the percentage of male fans is also increasing.

If Lovelyz keeps their activities domestic and does not aim to expand overseas, including Japan, that would be fine. However, if they aim to expand overseas, girls who have more than 80% of their domestic fans as male fans seem a bit annoying.

The way they became popular is similar to Apink.

But they use different performances for domestic and overseas audiences.

Can Lovelyz do that...?

Looking at the number of views on YouTube, there are hardly any songs in Lovelyz's MVs or stage videos that are getting good ratings, so it seems that they do not have much support from female fans.

Female fans would be able to work together to support their favorite group or member.

What about male fans?

I can't help but feel that I would do the opposite, as if I were hiding her existence.

For example, at a Japanese concert, I cannot imagine myself being absorbed in watching Lovelyz's stage performance in a venue where 90% of the fans are male.

I apologize for this being my own opinionated opinion, but if this concert is a success and the percentage of male fans continues to increase, I feel that Lovelyz would be better off maintaining their popularity and status by promoting themselves as domestic idols like IU.

However, if this concert shows a trend towards more female fans, I would like to see them gain momentum in expanding into Japan and other foreign countries.

Perhaps this will open up the prospect of an even more popular girl group than they are now.
