リヴァプール・マシュー通り (Mathew Street, Liverpool) のキャバーン･クラブ (Cavern Club) では、この日オールナイトのセッションが開催された。他の多くの出演者の中には名声高いジャズトランペッター、ケニー･ボール＆彼のジャズマン (Kenny Ball & His Jazzmen) もいた。
ケニー･ボール『The Cavern』スペンサー･レイ ⇒ 覚えているのは、キャバーンでビートルズは我々の前座をつとめてくれたことだ。オールレザーのスーツを着た連中を見るのは初めてだったよ。あそこはとても湿っぽい場所だから、彼らにとってはあまり快適じゃなかっただろうね。おじさん連中は我々が好きで、女の子たちは彼らが好きだった。何かおかしな感じだなって思ったよ。
しかしすべての観客がビートルズにほれ込んでいたわけではない。
ジェフ･デイヴィース(プローブ･プラス･レコード)『The Cavern』スペンサー･レイ ⇒ それはケニー･ボールの他、さまざまなジャズバンドのオールナイトショーだったが、ビートルズとレモ･フォーなんかも出てた。午前1時頃にマイク･コットン (Mike Cotton) のジャズバンドが終わって、次のロックバンドが音合せするのを聴いた。ひどい音だった。やかましいギターにヘビーなドラム、だから急いで外に出た。我々は一時外出のパスをもらって、ピアー･ヘッド (Pier Head) でパイとお茶を楽しんだ。あのひどいロックバンドが終わるまで待とうと思ったんだ。戻ってみると奴らの時間は終わってて、ケニー･ボールが演奏を始めようとしていた。彼はよかったね。
ビートルズのキャバーン･クラブへの正確な出演回数は判っていない。しかし1961年2月9日から1963年8月3日までの期間に、少なくともランチタイムショーで155回、イブニングショーで125回の演奏を行っている。

1960(昭和35)年08月05日(金) 演奏する場がなく、毎日ぶらぶらしていたシルヴァー・ビートルズの4人。このころピート・ベストは自らがドラマーとして加入していたバンド「ブラックジャックス」が解散寸前で、ドラマー不在のシルヴァー・ビートルズはピートに注目する。
1961(昭和36)年08月05日(土) キャバーン・クラブでオールナイト・セッションに出演。有名ジャズ・トランペッターのケニー・ボールも出演。
1962(昭和36)年08月05日(日) キャバーン・クラブで夜の部のステージに出演。
1963(昭和38)年08月05日(月) マンチェスター南部で年に1回行われるイベント「アームストン・ショー」に出演。アポッツフィールド・パークに設営された巨大なテントの中で演奏。出演した4組のメインとして登場した。

"Mick Longworth was only 15 when John, Paul, Ringo and George stayed at his father's hotel in Doncaster, South Yorkshire in 1963.
But after storing the valuable register in a bank vault for the past 15 years the grandfather-of-five is now planning to put it up for auction on the internet.
Mr Longworth hopes the sale could raise up to ￡30,000 to buy a family holiday home.
He said: "People tend to have an inflated view of what something like this is worth, but I am going to put it on the internet and see what happens.
"If I can get enough to buy a villa in somewhere like Spain for the family then it is much better than leaving it in a bank vault.
"Mind you, I could just as easily end up with enough money for a caravan in Cleethorpes."
The Beatles were touring with Helen Shapiro at the time of their one-night stay and had just reached number two in the charts with Please Please Me.
Mr Longworth said: "When I found out they were staying I cancelled my paper round and ended up serving John Lennon morning tea in his bed."
In the register each Beatle gives an address in Liverpool and under the nationality section Lennon jokingly scribbled "White Man" with McCartney scrawling "Green".
Mr Longworth added: "It's a piece of pop history and should be on display somewhere.""

Note･･･『The Beatles Anthology ３』に、コーラスだけのアカペラ・バージョンが収録されている。このバージョンではオーバーダブを施した9声によるボーカルのみを聞くことが出来る。リリースされたものとテイクの違いはなく、まったく同じ物である。

｢ビートルズ特集」かつてNHK-FMで『軽音楽をあなたに』 という番組が放送されていました。平日の月曜から金曜まで、普段は日替わりで各ジャンルの音楽を取り上げていましたが、1982年の春に、２週間かけてビートルズの全曲を流す特集が組まれました。（同じ年の8月と、1985年の夏に再放送されています）ビートルズの全曲を流したラジオ番組は他にもありましたが、この 『軽音楽をあなたに』 が思い出深いのは、そのマニアックな選曲・構成や、海賊盤の音源までが放送されたことによります。ビートルズ初心者でも、この番組を聴けばかなりのビートルズ通になれるような内容でした。ゲストは「ビートルズ研究家」の香月利一氏で、選曲や構成も彼が担当したと思われます。このページでは、その特集でかかった曲目を掲載します。

『ローリングストーン』誌の選ぶオールタイムグレイテストソング500は色んなところから非難が殺到してるランキングでもある。その人の価値観を映すクレームの鏡として見ると面白い。ローリング・ストーン誌だけに、ディランやストーンズのびいきが激しくないか？メタリカやU２、ビートルズの上位（彼らの作品の中での）が自分的に納得いかない。海外の評論家の感性にはついていけない。本当は翻訳してのせたかったけど、さすがに膨大な作業量になるため、英語版のまま載せます。
