There are three types of bonding agents commonly used in the high quality metal grinding discs:

The grain is easy to fall off, and the grinding disc has good self-sharpness, so the grinding efficiency is low. However, the grinding disc wears quickly and is not easy to maintain the contour; the third is that there is a certain elasticity, and the contact surface between the high quality metal grinding disc and the workpiece is large, which not only increases the abrasive particles which are involved in cutting but also offsets part of the vibration, and is easy to obtain high smoothness. The disadvantage is that the corrosion resistance is poor, so the grinding disc made with it should not work under the reducing coolant, and the storage period should not be too long (limited to - year).
3. Rubber bond code X). It has a higher elasticity and a higher strength than the resin binder, and can be used to make a very large grinding disc. Since the rubber has good elasticity, the polishing effect is good during the grinding process, and high gloss is easily obtained. The disadvantage is that the high quality metal grinding disc is easy to wear, the shape of the grinding disc is poor, and because of the high density of the grinding disc, there is almost no air hole, and it is impossible to grind a lot of machining allowance, which is not suitable for rough grinding. At the same time, rubber has poor oil resistance and cannot be used as a coolant.
