Accountant avoids jail for "upskirting"

PwCのロンドン事務所に勤務していた会計士（記事原文では実名入り）が、女性を盗撮した罪で、執行猶予付きの禁固刑を言い渡されたという記事。

今年1月に、トップショップという大手ファッションチェーンのロンドンの店舗で、女性を盗撮しようとして、警備員に捕まったそうです。

In January a security guard caught Chan trying to take upskirt videos and pictures of women in a central London Topshop.

彼の携帯には、1,700もの盗撮動画・写真が保存されていたそうです。

It was subsequently discovered that he had 1,700 similar clips and images on his phone.

公然わいせつ罪について有罪を申し立てていました。PwCからも、内部調査のうえ、解雇されました。

Earlier this year he pleaded guilty to one count of outraging public decency, namely filming or attempting to film up the skirts of female members of the public.

He was fired from PwC in September following an internal investigation.

裁判では禁固刑は免れましたが、性犯罪者のための保護観察プログラムに100日間参加することを命じられたとのことです。

On Friday he was given the suspended sentence and ordered to complete 100 days of the probation service’s Horizon programme for adult male sex offenders, according to reports.
