Phrasal Verb: WIND UP - English Vocabulary #shorts

Today's phrasal verb is "wind up." Now, this is a fun one, and as with most phrasal verbs, it has more than one meaning. One of the most common meanings of "wind up" is to find yourself in a place or a situation, often when you did not expect to be there. For example, I was just wandering around the city, and I wound up at the museum. So here, you were walking around the city without any real plan, and you just happened to get to the museum. Another example: I started organizing my desk, and somehow I ended up tidying the whole house. But here, you started working on a small task, but it got bigger and bigger and more complicated, and you wound up cleaning the whole house. "Wind up" can also mean to bring something to an end or finish something. For example, let's wind this meeting up with a summary of the action points. I think it's time to wind up this video. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
