PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) is most commonly known as "Teflon" a brand name of the material produced by Dupont. It is a self-lubricating that offers the lowest coeffecient of friction of any material. It also has astonishing chemical resistance along with a service operating temperature of 500F.
Fluorosint Teflon - PTFE Molded Rod has nine times greater resistance to deformation under load than unfilled PTFE. Its coefficient of linear thermal expansion approaches the expansion rate of aluminum, and is 1/5 that of PTFE — often eliminating fit and clearance problems.
