Misty hours trekking on a volcano high in the Daisetsuzan mountains, Asahidake, hikers today were reminded of the great shifts weather takes from day to day, especially at this altitude.
One hiker summited early in the day and felt determined to re-summit if the clouds cleared.

As the day progressed the seemingly resident fox trotted toward hikers in hopes for being fed.
The hikers, again as a few days ago, resisted from feeding the fox, to our knowledge. The clouds never did clear.
It may seem easy to be dissapointed on a day where summiting does not provide endless views. However, Tthe late spring songs of Daisetsuzan's bird population reminded us of their respective greatness through their song.

The pipit, the yellow wagtail, the siberian rubyred throat, and the spotted nutcracker calls absolutely flourished in the midst of sightless viewpoints.
