英語では必ず単数・複数を意識する

英語と日本語は、すごく違う。
もっとも違うのは、英語の場合、常に単数か複数かを意識すること。
数えられる名詞には、「a（an）」か「s（es）」、「the」のいずれかが必ずつく。
数えられない名詞の場合は、「the」がつくときとつかない時がある。

例文
The terminations were announced at a company-wide meeting on Tuesday, details of which were first leaked to and reported by the New York Times and Bloomberg News. Uber confirmed the departures to the Guardian.

これは単なる複数形。
terminationは一見数えられない名詞のように思われるが、数えられる名詞としても使われる。
辞書では、数えられるのと数えられないの、２つある。

この例文の場合、sがついているので、terminationが複数回あったことが示されている。
