Lybia Flag design according to the 1951 constitution:
The national flag according to a booklet issued by the Ministry of Information and Guidance of the Kingdom of Libya.
According to the constitutional declaration announced by the Interim National Transitional Council in Benghazi on 3 Ramadan 1432 AH corresponding to 03/08/2011 AD, Article 3 of it stipulates that the national flag shall be according to the following shape and dimensions:
Its length is twice its width, and it is divided into three parallel colors: red at the top, then black, and then green, provided that the area of the black color is equal to the sum of the area of the other two colors and that it contains in its middle a white crescent, between its two ends a white planet with five rays.
The Libyan constitution promulgated on October 7, 1951, as stipulated in its seventh article on the flag of Libya, states the following:
The Libyan flag shall have the following shape and dimensions: “Its length is twice its width, and it is divided into three parallel colors, the tops of which are red, then black, then green, provided that the area of the black color is equal to the area of the other two colors, and that its middle contains a white crescent between its two ends is a five-rayed star.”
The signs of the Libyan national flag must be as follows, according to Article 7 of the constitution: “The red color of the signal signs must be red, and it must be permanent green. The crescent must be at the mast side of the star, and the center of the circle of which the crescent is a part must be in the middle of the flag. 270 degrees is one-sixth of its outer diameter, which in turn equals a quarter of the width of the flag, and the distance between the top of the crescent must be equal to the distance between the top and bottom of the top of the star. It is measured on a vertical line from these two peaks to the side of the mast, and this vertical line is a line in line with the circumference of the outer circle of the crescent at a point equal distance between the top and bottom of the flag.
