Hi, today shared the recipe of dhaba style chicken curry which is very easy to make and will be definitely enjoyed by everyone. Made with minimal spices and no use of cashews and curd make this dish very easy to make at home.

1 cup=250 ml     1 tbsp=15ml    1 tsp=5ml
Prep time: 10 minutes      Marination time: 1 hour     Cooking Time: 35 minutes      Serve: 2
Recipe:
Marination:
Chicken (चिकन) – 500 gms.
Ginger-garlic paste (अदरक – लेसून) – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder (हल्दी) – ¼ tsp
Kashmiri red chilli powder (कश्मीरी लाल मिर्च) – 1 tsp (if using normal chilli powder –take ½ tsp)
Salt (नमक) – 1 tsp
Lemon juice (नींबू रस) – 1 tbsp

Other ingredients:
Oil (तेल) – 3tbsp
Cumin seeds (जीरा) – 1 tsp
Bay leaf (तेज पत्ता) – 2
Black cardamom (बड़ी एलईची)  – 2
Cloves (लौंग)– 2
Black peppercorn (काली मिर्च)– 4
Cinnamon (दालचीनी)– 1 inch
Finely chopped onion (प्याज़)– 3 medium sized
Ginger – garlic paste (अदरक-लेसून)– 1 tsp
Turmeric powder (हल्दी)– ½ tsp
Red chilli powder (लाल मिर्च) – 1 tbsp
Coriander powder (धनिया पाउडर) – 1 tsp
Chickpea flour (बेसन) – 1 tbsp
Water (पानी) – ¼ cup + water to make gravy
Tomato puree of 1 large sized tomato or ½ cup (टमाटर की प्यूरी)
Marinated chicken 
Slit green chilli (हरी मिर्च) – 2
Salt to taste (नमक)
Garam masala (गरम मसाला) – ¼ tsp
Coriander leaves (हरी धनिया)

Recipe:
Mix all the ingredients listed under marination.
Marinate for 1 hour. No need to keep in refrigerator.
Now heat oil, add cumin seeds and let it crackle. Add bay leaf, black cardamom, cloves, peppercorn, cinnamon and finely chopped onions. Cook till onions become soft.
Add ginger – garlic paste. Cook till raw aroma goes. Add turmeric, red chilli and coriander powder and mix well.
Add chickpea flour. This will thicken the gravy. Mix well and add ¼ cup water. Cook till mixture leaves the pot. 
Add tomato puree and cook till oil leaves the pot.
Add marinated chicken and green chilli and cook for 10-12 mins. on low flame.
Add 1 cup water and cover and cook chicken for 15-20 mins. or till chicken cooked properly. 
Remove lid and add water to thin gravy if required. Again cook for 5-6 mins. 
Garnish with coriander leaves. Enjoy with naan, roti or rice.
