GFRIEND recreates KARA's "Mister" "Attention focused on the hip dance"

On MBC's "2016 DMS Festival" "KOREAN MUSIC WAVE", GFRIEND recreated KARA's "Mister" even imitating the red pants.

The footage was uploaded to YouTube as a one minute and 30 second video.

As it was a little gift performance for the fans, the rendition was short and it felt a bit unsatisfying. However, the content was much more substantial than other cover dances on YouTube. It was as expected. They know the key points of the dance, and they are professionals after all... They leave a lasting impression with a subtle flavor.

With their work running around without even sleeping, they probably had limited time to copy the performance... The nine-member group TWICE took over from GFRIEND and performed Girls' Generation's "Gee." It was a sort of relay of the classic song that took Japan and Korea by storm.

The fact that Umji is retired coupled with this performance has me feeling a bit uneasy.

I'm worried about whether Umji will be able to return to the team safely after completing her treatment.

It feels a little late to talk about the start of the K-pop boom. But it was undoubtedly KARA and Girls' Generation that created and led this boom. These two groups ended up teaming up, and demonstrated the mobility to double or even triple the boom.

Now, with the rise of young girls, it seems like a similar momentum is emerging to that time.

Were the performances of these two groups just a nostalgic service...? If we compare GFRIEND to KARA and TWICE to Girls' Generation and hopes are being directed at them to "make that dream come true again," it's easy to think that if Umji's treatment drags on, she won't be able to return to the team.

It would be best if the momentum grew naturally, but it's also true that in many cases, the path only opens up if you take advantage of the opportunity.

Why is it that GFRIEND feels even cooler now that they continue to work as a five-member group without Umji due to injury...?

We hope that Umji will return to the team as soon as possible, before people start saying that she's not needed.
