新型コロナウイルス感染症感染拡大に伴い、2度目の緊急事態宣言下で、ライブエンターテインメントは再び停滞の憂き目にあっております。
弊社の劇場も蜘蛛の巣が張ってしまうくらい上演機会が絶たれ、久しく観客が入場しない日々が続いています。
STUDIO階梯-空-も予定していたワークショップ等のご利用がいくつかキャンセルとなってしまいました。
そんな中でも、映像配信に活路を見出し、果敢に挑戦し続ける方々もいらっしゃることは、施設提供者としては、心強く感じています。
前回の投稿でご紹介した、重力／Note ＆ Media工房の平井光子さんから、再び年明けにTPAMフリンジに挑戦しますとご連絡をいただき、再演というか、パワーアップして、STUDIO階梯-空-からライブ配信されます。
観客動員の見込めない小規模演劇にあって、ダンスと言葉とプロジェクションマッピングの融合した作品作りに果敢に挑戦、まだまだ手探り状態のライブ配信にひとつの方向性を示してくださっています。

ことばとダンス、プロジェクション・マッピングという3つの要素から創作するパフォーマンスを、オンラインでライブ配信します。（視聴無料・アーカイブ有）
使用するテクストは、川端康成『片腕』、小川未明『黒い塔』、そして2001年のWorld Trade Center ビルへのテロ事件のニュース速報をYouTubeの自動書き起こしで再生成したテクスト、という3種類の文章です。
21世紀に入って急速に通信技術が発達したいま、私たちは20世紀には想像できなかった形でコミュニケーションしています。顔も見たことのない遠くの相手と瞬時に言葉を交わすこともできます。 しかし夢のような技術進歩の一方で、私たちは、それを誰かとの対話の手段として使いこなせているだろうか？という疑問が残ります。お互いに匿名の「肉体」を接しないもの同士として対峙することが増えたいま、 自分たちが操っていた言語はどう変化していくのでしょうか。
《大昔、すべての地の人類は同じ一つの言語を喋っていた。彼らは協力しあい天まで届くような塔の建設をもくろむ。神はそれを見て怒り、人間の言葉を乱してお互い の言葉を理解できないようにされた。言語の混乱により高い塔の建設は頓挫し、塔は神の大風により転覆させられた。》
これは旧約聖書に記された「バベルの塔」という物語です。
今回はその昔話を基軸に、〈肉体—塔—言葉〉をめぐる3つの断片を作品化します。
肉体と言葉がばらばらに切断され、再接続して変容していく過程を、カメラを介して覗いてみてください。
※この作品はもともと20年4月に、観客の触覚にフォーカスした映像×ダンス作品として上演予定だった作品のWork in Progressです。
21年の夏以降に延期された上演に向けて、視聴後アンケートまたは上演後はYouTubeのチャット欄で、ご意見ご感想・質問などお寄せください。 《平井光子》

The texts to be used are Yasunari Kawabata's "One Arm," Mimei Ogawa's "The Black Tower," and an automatic transcription of the breaking news of the 2001 terrorist attack on the building.
With the rapid development of communication technology, we can instantly exchange words with someone far away whom we have never even met before.
How will the language change as we increasingly confront each other as anonymous "bodies" that have no contact with each other?
This performance will be based on the tale, "Tower of Babel" recorded in the Old Testament.
Take a peek through the camera at the process of dismemberment, reconnection, and transformation of body and speech.
This performance is created from three elements: Words, Dance, and Projection Mapping, and will be streamed live online.
The texts to be used are Yasunari Kawabata's "One Arm," Mimei Ogawa's "The Black Tower," and an automatic transcription of the breaking news of the 2001 terrorist attack on the building.

Mitsuko Hirai, a member of the theater company Jyuuryoku/Note, has been working with filmmaker Rob Moreno of Mediakobo to create a video x performance work using projection mapping since 2018.
The second work, "The Story of the Tower," will feature the dancer Yoshiko Imamura.
It was scheduled to be performed in April 2020, but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We will continue to create and release works in progress online in preparation for the final performance once Covid-19 is eradicated.
