はじめまして、1年目の Zou Peng (ぺん)です。

Hello everyone, nice to meet you! My name is Zou Peng, an exchange student from Northeastern University in China.

My hometown is Yichang, a beautiful city adjacent to the Yangtze River in China. I guess most of you haven’t known of this city, but maybe some of you have heard of the biggest dam in the world--the Three Gorges Dam. Yes, it is located in my hometown--Yichang and the scenery here is super spectacular, welcome you to visit my beautiful hometown!

Then coming back to myself, I am a JASSO Scholarship sponsored HUSTEP student in the School of Engineering. When I was a sophomore at Northeastern University in China, I applied for the student exchanging program at Hokkaido University. Luckily, I was enrolled and was able to come here in April. The first week I arrived here, to be honest, I was totally surprised by the beautiful natural scenery in Hokkaido University, where I felt like being in nature, witnessing numerous beautiful green trees and various cute animals.

When it comes to my club activities and my hobbies in China, I was a member of the school roller skating team, swimming team and marathon team and participated in the university sports meeting on behalf of my college many times. I love sports-related activities pretty much. Besides the sports mentioned above, I have learned many other interesting sports before, such as skateboard and skiing. By the way, if there is anyone who would like to learn those sports above or want to play together with me, please tell me and I’d be very happy to teach or play with you guys!

Coming to me joining the Equestrian club, I love both sports and animals, I have been yearning to be a close friend and cooperate with an animal, and the horse club gives me such an opportunity. I remembered the day I received the flyer of the horse club. A pretty friendly girl gave the horse flyer to me, the first second I saw the horse in that paper, I fell in love with this club. I asked that cute girl whether an international student can participate in the horse club and she responded: “Sure, you can!” I was so excited and finally, I had the honor to become a member of the horse club.

My goal is to practice equestrian as much as I can and finally learn to beautifully jump over barriers with my horse. I know my biggest advantage is that I cannot understand Japanese, so I must have already brought much trouble to the whole horse club. I am really really really sorry about that. But I really want to learn more Japanese, especially those related to equestrian and daily communication. In the later days, I’ll bring a small notebook with me and write down basic equestrian terms every day I learned in Japanese. Additionally, I love to spend time to be together with horses, to take care of them, to help them clean house to walk with them and to communicate with them. Just being together with the horse makes me happy and relax!

At last, I want to sincerely thanks so many kind members of horse club for their significant help. Thanks for you guys patiently help explain things, inform important notices and communicate with me. Lucky to meet you guys in my life.

よろしくお願いします。
以后的日子里,还请大家多多关照啦。

(Time flies so fast, two and a half hours slipped away...lol. Better to rush to do my homework right now. :)
