Dolphins Press Release
One of the top offensive tackles in Miami Dolphins history has come home. The Dolphins today signed Richmond Webb, the team announced. Webb will then be placed on the teams' Reserve/Retired list tomorrow, thus allowing him to retire as a Miami Dolphin.
"I want to thank Mr. Huizenga and the Dolphins organization for giving me the opportunity to retire with the team that I started my career with," Webb said. "I致e always thought of myself as a Dolphin. I had some great coaches and tremendous teammates during my Dolphins career, and I really enjoyed being a part of such a successful franchise. In particular, I知 grateful for everything Coach Shula did for my career. I知 luck that I was able to play with Dan Marino, and I really enjoyed the years Keith Sims played next to me on the offensive line. I will cherish those moments in a Dolphin uniform forever, and I知 looking forward to being an active part of the organization as an alumnus."
Webb played 11 seasons for the franchise, from 1990-2000, after the team made him the eighth overall pick in the 1990 draft out of Texas A&M, and he immediately became one of the National Football League痴 premier offensive linemen. For his career, Webb totaled 164 regular season games played, starting 162 of them. His games-played total is tied for fifth in franchise history, while his 162 starts rank third. His 118 consecutive starts (1991-98) and seven consecutive Pro Bowls (1990-96), including four straight as a starter from 1993-96, are team records. Webb concluded his illustrious career with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he played two seasons (2001-02). During his tenure with the Dolphins, the team allowed 30 or fewer sacks in a season nine times, including a league-low 16 in 1990
引退ニュースが続きました。
でもWebbの場合は既に引退していたも同然ですが、
ドルフィンズ選手としての引退のために契約のようです。
ほんとこのひととTimboはけた外れにでかかったです。
Webbにお相撲さんのピコピコハンマーをプレゼントしたら、
ポジション別のミーティングルームで
Simsと一緒になってピコピコ遊んでいたのを思い出します。
