後手を踏んだ自民党
自民党が議員の公認候補をどうするかでもめている。当初は、裏金議員であるかどうかは問わないとしていたが、世論が厳しいという調査結果が出て、再考したとの事である。
以前よりも踏み込んで、裏金議員の一部は公認候補としないとしたのだが、それでも私の見方では、未だ世論を納得させる対処ではないように思う。
リスクコミュニケーションでしばしば言われる事だが、対処が後手に回り不信感を持たれると、どんどん世間が悪い印象を持つようになる。
最初から厳しい態度を持って、裏金議員の処置を行っていれば良いのに、世間の意向調査が厳しく出た事に配慮して小出しに対処していくという粗末な対応を行ってしまった。先手必勝ならぬ後手の必敗であろう。
The LDP fell behind
The Liberal Democratic Party is arguing over what to do about its officially endorsed candidates. Initially, it said it would not question whether the candidates were politicians who received illicit funds, but it has reconsidered after a survey showed that public opinion was harsh.
They have gone further than before and decided not to endorse some of the lawmakers who have illicit funds as official candidates, but in my opinion this is still not enough to convince public opinion.
It is often said in risk communication that if the response is delayed and distrust is generated, the public will increasingly have a negative impression of the issue.
It would have been better if they had taken a tough stance from the beginning and dealt with the illicit fund lawmakers, but instead they responded poorly by dealing with the matter piecemeal, taking into consideration the harsh results of the public opinion survey. It is not a sure win for the first player, but a sure defeat for the second player.
