The Nuclear Threat posed by Russia, Part 1: The Silence of the Biden Administration
I would like tentatively to share the insights and commentary by Mr. Yoshihisa Komori, one of the leading and well-known journalists in Japan, whose article originally appeared in the May 2022 issue of the monthly magazine "Seiron" or "Sound Arguments".
One of the shock waves spread by the war in Ukraine was the suggestion of the use of nuclear weapons by Russia.
This could be called nuclear intimidation.
Moreover, President Putin declared that Russia was prepared to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine, which has no nuclear weapons, even in a small-scale regional war limited to Ukraine.
This was the first time in the nearly 80-year history of the world since the end of World War II that a nuclear superpower has threatened to use nuclear weapons from the front.
But the government of the United States, another nuclear superpower, remained silent on this serious matter.
