『古事記』垂仁天皇 6 ≪改訂版≫
爾天皇詔之「吾殆見欺乎。」乃興軍擊沙本毘古王之時、其王作稻城以待戰。此時沙本毘賣命、不得忍其兄、自後門逃出而、納其之稻城、此時其后妊身。於是天皇、不忍其后懷妊及愛重至于三年、故廻其軍不急攻迫。如此逗留之間、其所妊之御子既產。故出其御子、置稻城外、令白天皇「若此御子矣天皇之御子所思看者、可治賜。」於是天皇詔「雖怨其兄、猶不得忍愛其后。」故卽有得后之心。
是以、選聚軍士中力士輕捷而宣者「取其御子之時、乃掠取其母王。或髮或手、當隨取獲而掬以控出。」
≪英訳≫
At that time, the Emperor said, ‘I am in danger of being deceived,’ and raised an army to attack Prince Sahohiko. When the prince, in preparation for the battle, built the castle of Ine, Princess Sahohime could not bear it any longer, so she fled from the back gate and took refuge in the castle.
During this time, the Empress was pregnant, and she had been carrying the child for three years while being cherished. As a result, the Emperor did not immediately attack and return the army. While this time passed, the child was born. The Empress then took the child out of the castle and said to him, ‘If you regard this child as your own, raise him well.’ The Emperor expressed his desire to obtain the Empress, saying, ‘Although I hold resentment against the prince, my love for the Empress remains unchanged.’ Thus, he chose swift men from among the army and ordered them to ‘capture both the child and the mother when you take him, seize them by their hair or hands and bring them to me.’
≪この英文の和訳≫
そのため、天皇は『私は危うく欺かれるところだった』と仰せになり、軍を起こしてサホ彦の王（皇子）をお撃ちになる時、その王が稲の城を作ってお待ちになりました。この時、サホ姫は堪え難く、後の門から逃げてその城にお入りになりました。
その時に、皇后は妊娠しておいでになり、またお愛しされていることがもう三年も経っていたので、軍を引き返して、急にお攻めになりませんでした。こうして時間が経過するうちに御子がお生まれになりました。それで、その御子を城の外に出して、天皇に申し上げた『もしこの御子を天皇の御子とお考えになるのなら、どうかお育て遊ばせてください』と。天皇は『王(皇子)には恨みがあるが、皇后に対する愛情は変わらない』と仰せになり、皇后を得られようとするお心がありました。それで、軍隊の中から敏捷な者を選り集めて「その御子を取る時には、その母君をも奪い取れ。髪でも手でも掴まえ次第に掴んで引き出せ」と仰せられました。
