Exciting experiences in Tokyo

They were interested in learning about Japanese traditional life and culture.
According to the list of their specific interests, we recommended them three as followed:
A class of cooking and eating "Sushi", the museum of traditional crafts in Asakusa and sake tasting at a sake shop in Omotesando.

At the school run by a sushi-shop near the Tsukiji fish market,
we learned how to fillet a fish into three pieces, 2ones and bone,
and mix the steamed rice with vinegar for "Nigirizushi", hand-rolled sushi.
We struggled with a horse mackerel, separated it into three and
sliced it into more small pieces.
Several pieces of nigirizushi were made with them.
We made other kinds of nigirizushi with salmon roe, tuna , fatty tuna and also
did California roll. How fresh and delicious !
They enjoyed "Sushi" made by themselves with a bowl of seaweed miso soup.

The next destination Asakusa has been flourishing since the Edo era(1603~1867) and attracting people now in various aspects.
Traditional crafts are one of them.
The Edo Shitamachi(local district) Crafts Museum fascinated them.
Especially an artisan, making traditional small chests called " Edo Sahimono", demonstrated the special skills for them and explained in detail to the husband's question. He showed a keen interest in the tools and the skills because he was also a woodworker and was satisfied with the extra demonstration.

The last excitement was sake tasting.
Japanese sake has been gradually popular overseas.
There is a shop serving shot glasses for tasting at reasonable prices in Omotesando where is popular among the young generation.
Over its counter, they tried three glasses.
Thay had a good palate for telling the differences
between the standard sake and DAIGINJYOU ", specially brewed one.

Feeling very happy, we said good bye.
Thank you for your wonderful request!

Our guides Takako and Hideko were terrific! We enjoyed our day very much. The sushi class was one of the favorite things we did on our trip. We communicated with our guides via email, and they were able to plan an itinerary that included our specific interests. Thank you!
