TWICE's third appearance on Music Station...confirmed for February 2nd
(TWICE, live broadcast of Music Station on 2/2)
TWICE will appear on Japan's leading music program, TV Asahi's Music Station (hereafter referred to as Music Station), in 2018.
Music Station announced at the end of the broadcast on the 26th that TWICE will be appearing on the program on the 2nd of next month, drawing the attention of Japanese fans.
This is already the third time that TWICE has been involved with Music Station, which has been broadcast since October 1986 and is said to be the most popular music program in Japan, and has been in the program for 32 years.
Thanks to their popularity, TWICE also appeared on Music Station Super Live 2017 and NHK's Red and White Song Battle. In particular, they were the only Korean artists to appear on Red and White Song Battle in six years, which made TWICE's popularity in Japan known.
TWICE will release their second single "Candy Pop" in Japan on the 7th of next month, aiming for their third consecutive hit in Japan. Prior to the release of the single, the song was released at midnight on the 12th, and as soon as it was released, it reached number one on the LINE MUSIC Top 100 chart, heralding their immense popularity.
TWICE is currently on their showcase tour "TWICE SHOWCASE LIVE TOUR 2018 'Candy Pop'" with eight performances in six cities in Japan, starting on the 19th of this month at the Seto City Cultural Center in Aichi, followed by Fukuoka on the 22nd, Hiroshima on the 23rd, Osaka on the 25th and 26th, Tokyo on the 29th, and Saitama on the 31st and 1st of February.
(From K-POP News)
I don't usually watch TV Asahi's "Music Station," so I found out that TWICE will be appearing on Music Station on February 2nd from this article. I think it's an early appearance, as the excitement of the Red and White Song Battle is still lingering.
The Japan showcase tour "TWICE SHOWCASE LIVE TOUR 2018 'Candy Pop'" kicked off on the 19th at the Seto City Cultural Center in Aichi and is reaching its climax with eight performances in six cities.
After finishing this tour, they will appear on Music Station the next day. The response to the tour has been much better than expected. Is it too much to think that they received an offer? It would not have been surprising if it had been announced as a plan before the tour began.
There is no shortage of topics to talk about on the tour. I am looking forward to seeing the members' interactions with Tamori.
TWICE's popularity has reached a level that is incomparable to last summer. Last summer, many people were heard saying that they were the only TWICE fan in their class (a sense of isolation?). Now, the number is increasing and even some are complaining (they are annoyed by the new fans?).
This situation is not unique to Japan. Their popularity has spread worldwide as well.
TWICE had taken the lead in popularity in Japan, beating out BLACKPINK and Red Velvet, but on a global level, it seemed as though BLACKPINK had overtaken them in both popularity and popularity.
But now, even in the global trend, it feels like TWICE is second only to BTS in momentum. It seems that a hot composition is emerging in which BTS is the boy band of K-Pop and TWICE is the girl band.
The shift from BLACKPINK to TWICE came with the successive hits of their comeback song "LIKEY," which was completed by filming the members dancing on the streets of North America (Canada), and "Heart Shaker," a track from "The 1st Album: Repackage "Merry & Happy," which was released 40 days later.
Then, with the children's song "Candy Pop," TWICE showed the talent of a multi-girl group that is nimble and multifaceted.
This style is similar to that of BTS, who captured the attention and enthralled many K-pop fans with a variety of simultaneous performances late last year.
On a global level, it would not be an exaggeration to say that K-pop at the end of last year was dominated by the music of BTS and TWICE. I felt this not only from K-pop stages, but also from watching random dance and reaction videos, and the music videos of many idol groups.
Even in the random dance videos uploaded this year, there were particularly excited audiences when songs by BTS and TWICE were played.
I believe that both groups will continue to be entertaining and serve as a gateway to K-pop, taking the lead in this year as well.
When I saw this photo, I had a thought. If TWICE were to form a three-person unit, each of their members would be attractive.
