Deloitte moves into Canadian cannabis industry

デロイトが、ニールセン社（世界的な調査会社）やHeadset社（大麻市場に強い調査会社だそうです）と提携して、合法化されたカナダの大麻市場向けのサービスを行うという記事。

カナダは、2018年、G７の中で最初に娯楽用大麻を合法化した国です。

Canada became the first G7 country to legalise recreational cannabis in 2018.

デロイトカナダ事務所の大麻セクターを率いるパートナーは、新しいアライアンスにおけるデータの重要性を強調しているそうです。

Jennifer Lee, a partner at Deloitte Canada leading the cannabis sector for the firm, emphasised the importance of data in the new alliance, according to a report from Forbes.

Headset社のCEOのコメントによると、この市場の新規性は、急ペースの成長を意味するのだそうです。カナダの大麻市場はヒートアップしており、企業は、データをてこにして、この動きの速い分野において、知識に基づく意思決定を行うことが重要とのことです。国によって規制された大麻の売上は、2019年に170億ドルに達する見込みだそうです。

Seattle-based Headset is dedicated solely to data insights for the cannabis market. Cy Scott, the company’s CEO, predicted that the relative novelty of the market will mean a rapid pace of development.

“As the cannabis industry heats up in Canada it is critical that organisations leverage data to drive informed decisions in this fast-moving space,” he said.

Sales of federally regulated cannabis are expected to reach as much as $17bn (£12.8bn) in 2019, and companies are keen to get to grips with the market, according to a recent report from Arcview Market Research and BDS Analytics.

合法的な産業向けの合法的なサービス提供なのでしょうが、麻薬にはちがいないので、ビッグ4事務所がその販売促進の手助けをするというのは、どうなのでしょう（ニコチンよりも中毒性が低いという説もあるようですが）。カジノ向けサービスと同様に、あまり感心しません。
