LOG CABIN BLOCK

My Projects

Maybe you are familiar with one of the patchwork blocks, "Log Cabin". You will find the center fabric in red, it means the fireplace in the living room bulit up with logs. This log cabin is normally made with light and dark portions. I believe this is one of the basic and easiest blocks for patchwork quilt beginners.

If you change layouting fabrics and sew their sewing orders, you can make another different block named "Courthouse Steps".

Here is my project using the courthouse steps.

The quilt blocks have lots of variations. Find your favorite blocks and arrange them with your imagination.

This is going to be great for you

BAGS WITH HARD TULLE MATERIALS

My Projects

These bags are not quilted ones, but you can maybe use them during summer. I like these materials because I can find anything I want to pick it up from the bag . I am a person who bring a lot of things with me so sometimes it is difficult to find what I want.

This bag was made by one of my quilting friends. Black felts decorated with threads and yarns are appliqued.

The following bag is used the optional accessory, "Circular Attachment".

Yous will find each corded half circle and circle are decorated over the hard tulle material.

We also made the fabric cosage using "Tijimi", the material which shirnks with a hair dryer.

This cosage is from one idea of my quilting teacher

TRAPUNTO

My Projects

One of partipants' favorites is called "Trapunto", this is one of traditional hand-quilted techniques. But you can do with your sewing machine.

You need to attach a little bit thick batting at back for your pattern and then sew along the outline of the pattern temporarly with longer stitches, and cut out the batting along the sewing line like the below picture.

The following steps are same as you make any patchwork quilt. Add latice or borders and layer a standard batting and a backing and then quilt as you like. So, the trapunto cushion can be made!

The other cusion has pigeons, it is more fascinating design, isn't it?

MY FLYING GEESE BAG

My Projects

I have been visiting Latin America to have my patchwork and quilting classes there. Some of participants ask me to see my projests so I show some of them on my blog. But some of them are not anymore with me so I pick up some remaining pictures from my camera. I hope you will enjoy them.

This bag is used with one of popular pattens, called "Flying Geese".

The trianges look like geeses are flying. Actually vertical triangles are original like the blow pictures.

This block is used folded rectangles and open them to make each triangle.

Can you imagine? This technique is easier than the one really cuting each triangle

AQUI ESTA COCO(ここにココあり)
