I went to my father's today.
Arranging with my younger sister Mie through the phone yesterday, we were going to plan the day Dad moves out.
We all met at around noon and went for lunch. It was fun having lunch with Dad, Mie and her kids. Real mess though, can't help forgiving the cute kids with innocent smile! Anyway,
We went to Dad's new place after lunch. I saw his 30 year-old secondhand house for the fist time. Hmm, not bad. It actually looked abandoned but is in the middle of remodeling. Dad bought it at 6,000,000 yen --- do you think is cheap for a house with 4 bed rooms? --- including remodeling new wallpaper, new flooring and sewage system for flashing toilet.
It has a small front yard with a garden along with brick walls. Isn't it fantastic there are a persimmon tree and date tree ? They are edible!! Dad is going to live by eating them even though he went bankrupt!! heheh,
It is located at high altitude. ( Basically Nagano is located at high altitude though.. ) I guarantee that the air is clear and includes lots of minus ions. Dad is definitely going to need winter tires because he needs to climb quite a bit of slope to get there. You know Nagano, famous for nice ski resorts. Lots of snow! Winter tires are musts to have for those who own a car but Dad doesn't have one. Two years ago, I gave him my Suzuki Swift, which I bought in summer and never drove in winter. Unbelievably, he drove with normal tires for 2 winters! It will be an option for him no more.
... I was going to take some pictures of his current house with us but I FORGOT MY CAMERA!!! Silly me!! Goooosh, I won't forget it next week!!!
Must put a post-it, shouldn't I?
