ミラノ通信 - 我が為すことは、我のみぞ知る

We our age have not experienced the World war II personally but there many people have struggled after surviving past 69 years.

My grand mother aged 95 years still fine and sound has a war experience but I don't talk much about the last war. As far as I know, my grand father was born in Taiwan which is the Japanese territory at that time and had some war experience. He told me about the situation in the war days when I was 12 years or less. I was elementary school student at that time and studied a lot about the negative portion part of the war impact after acquiring the story from my grand father. Of course I've never had an personal experience and although I learned lots of the story, that could be an armchair theory. However, word‐of‐mouth tradition is quite important I assume. 'cause I heard the story from my grand father, I still come to think deeply about the war.

Recent days, this past few days, I watched some news about the war. It may well because 6th of August is the anniversary day of HIROSHIMA a-bomb day and 9th of August is the day of NAGASAKI, and 15th of August is the anniversary day of the end of the WW II. I have no idea how young ages think about the last war. And anchor man told that a clan of narrators of legends and folktales in the war days are getting decreased and it would be a big impact to mislead the thought of war. I think so too.

Things I have to carry out for the rest of my life are I will be the side where I am against the war.

Tokyo is fine today. Probably the same day 69 years ago can be the same. I don't know. But definitely the difference between now and 69 years ago is this is the age of no war in Japan and I thoroughly hope this situation will last forever.
