又天皇、婚丸邇之佐都紀臣之女・袁杼比賣、幸行于春日之時、媛女逢道。卽見幸行而逃隱岡邊。故作御歌、其歌曰、
袁登賣能 伊加久流袁加袁 加那須岐母 伊本知母賀母 須岐婆奴流母能
故、號其岡謂金鉏岡也。
又天皇、坐長谷之百枝槻下、爲豐樂之時、伊勢國之三重婇、指擧大御盞以獻。爾其百枝槻葉、落浮於大御盞。其婇不知落葉浮於盞、猶獻大御酒。天皇看行其浮盞之葉、打伏其婇、以刀刺充其頸、將斬之時、其婇白天皇曰「莫殺吾身、有應白事。」卽歌曰、

When the Emperor Yūryaku came to Kasuga to marry Princess Odo, the daughter of the vassal of Satsuki of Wani. At that time, a maiden encountered the Emperor on the road, and upon seeing him, she fled and hid in OKabe. The Emperor composed a song:
“Would that there were many ploughshares
To till the hillside where she hides;
For, like a ploughshare, I would cleave it.”

Fall onto the robe of a lady
From the land of Ise, a lady who has come
From a threefold-layered robe,
And they float in the sake cup she offers,
Settling like floating oil,
And the sound of the water goes ‘clatter, clatter.’

≪この英文の和訳≫
雄略天皇はある時、春日においでになりました。その際、サツキの臣の家のヲドヒメという乙女が道で天皇に出会い、彼を見て岡邊に隠れました。それで、天皇は次の歌をお詠みになりました：
鍬が沢山あればよいのになあ、
彼女が隠れたその丘を耕せるならば、
その鍬で彼女を掘り起こすであろうに
このことから、この岡は金鉏岡(かなすきのおか)と名づけられました。
