『古事記』仁徳天皇 5
天皇、聞看其大后自山代上幸而、使舍人名謂鳥山人、送御歌曰、
夜麻斯呂邇 伊斯祁登理夜麻 伊斯祁伊斯祁 阿賀波斯豆麻邇 伊斯岐阿波牟加母
又續遣丸邇臣口子而歌曰、
美母呂能 曾能多迦紀那流 意富韋古賀波良 意富韋古賀 波良邇阿流 岐毛牟加布 許許呂袁陀邇迦 阿比淤母波受阿良牟
又歌曰、
都藝泥布 夜麻志呂賣能 許久波母知 宇知斯淤富泥 泥士漏能 斯漏多陀牟岐 麻迦受祁婆許曾 斯良受登母伊波米
故、是口子臣、白此御歌之時、大雨。爾不避其雨、參伏前殿戸者、違出後戸、參伏後殿戸者、違出前戸。爾匍匐進赴、跪于庭中時、水潦至腰。
≪英訳≫
Emperor Nintoku, upon hearing that his Empress had passed through Yamashiro, sent an attendant named Toriyama to deliver a song. The song read:
“Yamashiro, pursue and overtake,
Pursue and overtake. Shall I be able to meet my beloved wife
By pursuing and overtaking her?”
Furthermore, he sent his minister Wani no Omi Kuchiko with another song:
“On the high platform of Mount Mimoro,
In the plains of Ohoyiko.
Like the entrails of a large boar
With its name, facing each other.
Could it be that only the heart is there?”
He was also sent this song:
"The daughter of the mountain castle,
Who dug up the big white radish
With a hoe that had a wooden handle,
If I had not seen her white arms,
I could have said I never knew her."
During the time these songs were being recited by the minister Kuchiko, it was raining heavily. However, he did not avoid the rain, and when he went to the front of the palace and lay down, she passed by and went to the back, and when he went to the back of the palace and lay down, she passed by and went to the front. So when he was crawling and kneeling in the garden, the rainwater accumulated and stuck to his waist.
≪この英文の和訳≫
仁徳天皇は皇后が山代をお通りになったことをお聞きになり、トリヤマという臣を遣わして、歌を贈らせました。その歌はこうです：
「山代に追いつけ、追いつけ。最愛の我が妻に追いついて逢えるであろうか。」
さらに、天皇は臣の丸邇(ワニ)の口子(クチコ)を遣わし、別の歌を贈りました。
「高台のミモロ山にある、オホヰコの原。その名のごとく大豚の腹に向き合っている臓腑(きも)、心だけだと思うことなかれ」
また、次の歌を贈られました：
「山城の娘が、木の柄のついた鍬で掘り起こした大きな白い大根
その白い腕を見なかったら、知らないとも言えように」
これらの歌が口子(クチコ)の臣によって詠まれている間、大雨が降っていました。しかしながら、彼はその雨を避けることなく、宮殿の前に行って伏せると、皇后は(彼を通り過ぎて)後ろに行かれ、宮殿の後ろに行って伏せると、皇后は(彼を通り過ぎて)前に行かれました。そのため、彼は庭で匍(は)って跪(ぬかづ)いている時、雨水がたまって腰に着きました。
