Scorpions prefer to fly with a Tupolev instead of driving with a tour bus

Hanover. From Thursday on the rock band Scorpions travel with a Tupolev plane instead of a tour bus through Russia. After the prelude concert in St. Petersburg the five musicians will travel to more eleven cities like Vladivostok. "We play also old songs like "Living for Tomorrow" from the 80´" singer Klaus Meine (59) said on Monday in Hanover. Russian fans would have voted via Internet.
At the top of the wish list was "Wind of Change", which deemed to be the hymn of the falling wall in Berlin. Also the new Russian president Dmitri Medwedew is count among the Scorpions fans.
Guitarist and band founder Rudolf Schenker (59) said, he and the other band members are looking forward to the first big tour in Russia since six years now, "and we want to go on stage with full power". "This country is still a very special place", said Meine. Exactly 20 years before, Scorpions had played as one of the few western rock bands in the USSR in former Leningrad.
