「Bury Me Benieth the Willow」は、死んで、しだれ柳の木の下に埋もれたいと願う絶望的な男性についての悲しい歌です。 男性が女性の心変わりを歌っており結婚式前日に新婦が姿をくらますといった内容です。性別は歌手によって異なり、歌手が女性の時は（彼女→彼、男→女）となり､それぞれの詩の多くの異なるﾊﾞﾘｴｰｼｮﾝと曲名があります。 1906年にﾐｽﾞｰﾘ大学の英国人教授がﾄﾗﾃﾞｨｼｮﾅﾙ・ﾌｫｰｸｿﾝｸを収集するｸﾗﾌﾞに参加したことによって見出されました。

‎1924年､Henry Whitter（ﾍﾝﾘｰ･ｳｨｯﾀｰ）によって最初の録音と最初のﾘﾘｰｽがなされました。 ‎1927年､The Carter Family（ｶｰﾀｰ･ﾌｧﾐﾘｰ）はｿﾝｸﾞﾗｲﾀｰ、ﾌｫｰｸｿﾝｸの収集家であるBradley Kincaid（ﾌﾞﾗｯﾄﾞﾘｰ･ｷﾝｹｲﾄﾞ）によって書かれたﾊﾞｰｼﾞｮﾝを録音しました。‎1960年､The Brothers Fourは彼ら自身がﾏｲﾅｰに編曲､ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”Rally 'Round!”､The Stanley Brothersはｱﾙﾊﾑ”Everybody's Country Favorites"､‎1961年､The Kingston Trioはｱﾙﾑ”Close Up”､2009年､ｼﾞｮﾆｰ･ｷｬｯｼｭの娘､Rosanne Cash（ﾛｻﾞﾝﾇ･ｷｬｯｼｭ）はｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”The List”､2011年､ﾊﾜｲｱﾝ･ｸﾞﾙｰﾌﾟ､Sunset Specialはｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”Vol. 2 (Savaiki)”に曲を収録しています。
