In the chilly early morning on 19th Feb. we headed to Sadogatake-beya Stable leading Ozeki Kotoohshu(琴欧州)、the second ranking of the sumo wrestler and also Kotomitsuki(琴光喜).
Kotoohshu entered this Sumo world, the Japanese traditional national sport far from overseas Bulgaria. He just got married a couple days ago with the Japnese young lady,looked so happy though we were really overwhelmed and impressed by their hot and exciting practice. No less than twenty disciples including four sekitori(ranking more than Jyuryou)were practicing under coaching of Stable master, the former Sekiwake Kotonowaka(琴ノ若). Nine people including our group joined in watching sumo training. Pictures permitted only from the seat, but speaking, drinking, eating & smoking are prohibited during training. The ending came closed, we could hear the sounds of chopping the vegetbles, ingredients of "chanko-nabe"(special sumo meal)from the kitchen & dining room which Okamisan(Stable master's wife)and the lower ranking disciples were preparing for sumo wrestels branch after training. The training was closed by chanting the motto of the Stable and singing a Stable song among them. We could have a homely feel and be touched with their good manner and relationships between Master and disciples. The issues of Susmo wrestler's manner or deed of violence disputed these days could not be fallen on my head. This is another world with heritage of the olad Japanese culture. (M.M)
