The first spot in Meiji Shirine, we met the lucky chance to join the tea ceremoy event at teahouse named 隔雲亭(Kaku-un-tei) organized by NPO Hibiki. Fantastic Japanese confectionery shaped camellia flower were served with powdered green tea for us. The Lady from Canada was impressed with tasteful room with the alcove decorated with seasonal flowers and hanging scroll in the tatami mat room. After tea ceremony we were strolling the garden famous for Japanese iris which were presented for Empress Shoken by Meiji Emperor. Though iris flower is out of season now, we could see beautiful sight of colored leaves, red or yellow still left with the trees. We could see some children attired lovely Kimono to pray with their parents for children festival celebrating aged 3, 5, 7 years. After leaving Meiji Shrine, heading to Harajuku antique shop looking for sash(obi), Imperial Palace and neighborhood. Picturesque view of pine trees well matched the small castle tower and Nijyu-bashi bridge made us feel refreshed after a little tiredness after too much walking. The 2nd day, Zojoji Temple→Tsukiji Fish Market→Onsen(Oedo-Onsen) The most exciting spot of 2nd day is Onsen(hot spring bath) !!
She might be feel it very fun to see it and take Onsen. Public bath used to be a social amusement space for the common people. But now the Japanese have only rare chance to take it unless going hot spring resort. After taking bath, we had a food and cold beer in Onsen House there and enjoyed talking too much about the topics of Japanese & Canadian culture. Hoping Canadian lady good memory of Tokyo left in her heart.
