80年代の中頃、英CharlyがJewel、Paula、Ronnの音源を使ってBlues/Soul/R&Bの様々なアルバムを出していました、本盤もそんな一枚。各アーティストのこのレーベルでの一番曲を外しての選曲、とは云え全曲聴き応えは充分。ノケゾリのカーティス・グリフィンから、あら、こんな曲まで歌っていたのねのテッド・テイラー、タイロン・ディヴィス調のキマリ曲"Sweet 94"をうなるバスター・ベントン、最後はジョン・リー翁。一旦針を乗せたら最後まで聴き惚れます。

バディ・ガイの弟、フィル・ガイ。兄と同じギタリスト/シンガーで兄にあまりに陽が当たってただけにどうしてもその陰に隠れていたという印象の人。兄のようなエキセントリックなところはあまり無いよりオーソドックスなダウンホーム・ブルースマンだったようですね。08年に癌で亡くなっています。
A面が85年ロンドンでのスタジオ録音、B面は翌86年ロンドンは100Clubでのライヴ録音というカップリング。
