FIFAの汚職捜査では、英国の勅許会計士も逮捕されていたという記事。

A chartered accountant from London has been arrested as part of the FIFA corruption investigation

先週、FIFAの副会長でケイマン諸島の居住者であるJeffrey Webbを含む多くのFIFA幹部が、汚職容疑で、チューリッヒの五つ星ホテルにおいて逮捕された。

Last week a number of high profile FIFA executives, including vice-president and Cayman Islands resident Jeffrey Webb, were arrested in dawn raids at their five-star hotel in Zurich on corruption and bribery charges.

逮捕された中には、Webbの随行員を務める、ロンドン生まれの訓練を積んだ会計士であるCostas Takkasもいた。彼は、ケイマン諸島サッカー協会の元総書記だった。

One of those detained was London-born and trained accountant Costas Takkas, who acted as attaché to Webb. Takkas was previously general secretary of the Cayman Islands Football Association.

マイアミに本拠を置くTakkasは、英国領バージン諸島で登記され、ケイマン諸島に銀行口座を持つ Kosson Venturesという会社を利用して、南米のスポーツ・マーケティング代理店Traffic社とFIFA役員の間の違法な支払いを手助けしていた。

Takkas, who is based in Miami, is alleged to have used a firm called Kosson Ventures, registered in the British Virgin Islands and with bank accounts in the Cayman Islands, to facilitate illegal payments between a South American sports marketing agency, Traffic, and FIFA officials.
