Do administrative reforms to raise defense spending?
Prime Minister Kishida said in a Diet session on January 24 that he would have implement administrative reforms in order to raise the increased defense budget, and if the budget is insufficient, he will have no choice but to raise taxes.
There is no Japanese who can accept this word. I think there have been an administration in the past that have shown a will to work on administrative reform, but they have never been able to produce results that are worthy of success.
Japan's slump and stagnation are largely influenced by bureaucratic bureaucracy, an organizational culture that does not care about policy results, and insensitivity to costs. In spite of this, I feel resentment at the mindset of lightly inserting "administrative reform" into the answer to the defense budget increase, saying, "I haven't forgotten."
