Aerosmith 9:45PM - 11:05PM

OK, an awesome night of rock and roll and the place was packed! This was my 18th KISS show and my 2nd for Aerosmith. I missed Saliva’s set since I couldn’t get out of work when I hoped.

Below are the set list and my short review of each of the headliners. KISS Set List
1 Detroit Rock City
2 Deuce
3 Shout It Out Loud
4 Let Me Go, Rock and Roll
5 Lick It Up
6 Firehouse (Gene breathes fire)
7 I Love It Loud
8 God Of Thunder (Gene blood spitting)
9 I Want You
10 100,000 Years
11 Black Diamond encore
12 Beth
13 Love Gun
14 Rock And Roll All Nite

REVIEW:
Although the stage was smaller compared to the reunion & the farewell tour, still a great show. The stage was the same as the one used at the Alive IV KISS Symphony concert in Melbourne. Notices Paul was using amplifiers made by Acoustic instead of by Randall.

First time seeing Paul’s new Silvertone Apocalypse and Sovereign guitars. Gene did not fly up to the lighting trussles during God of Thunder and Paul did not not have the usual small stage in the middle of the audience during Love Gun. Gene has really slimed down and looked great. Paul’s voice just keeps getting better and nobody commands the audience like him. Tommy did an excellent job & looked like he really was enjoying the audience. Peter sounded great and smiled throughout the concert.

During Deuce, Gene slipped on his behind and you could see Paul laughing for awhile. The backing track for Beth was played by the Melbourne Symphany Ensemble and sounded great! The kept the instrumental middle section & Peter handed out roses during this time. Before they went into Love Gun, Paul sang a couple of verses by himself. Great touch!!! Miss the confetti during Rock And Roll All Nite but KISS was great. Only complaint is I want more!!

Aerosmith Set List
1 Mama Kin
2 Love In An Elavator
3 Let The Music Do The Talking
4 Pain (?)
5 Jaded
6 Train Kept A Rollin'
7 What It Takes

9 (new blues song)
10 Dream On
11 Same Old Song And Dance
12 Cryin'
13 Walk This Way
14 Sweet Emotion

REVIEW:
Aerosmith looked great but the sound mix had too much bass and couldn’t hear Steven clearly. Neat idea of using the revolving stage but for the most part a very basic stage. I read a lot of reviews of audiences who did not like the 2 blues covers from their “Honkin’ On Bobo” album (to be released next year) but to me, these 2 songs were the highlights from Aerosmith!

Yes, I agree that KISS was the better act but being fans of both acts, I enjoyed them both. Can anyone confirm the name of Aerosmith’s 4th song? I would love any comments from rock fans out there. Thanks for reading. Frank
