New Sounds from RCA Victor

神保町DUのバーゲン箱で見つけた3枚、偶然いずれもRCA Victor盤で300円でした。まとめてのっけて置きます。


1,New Sounds at thr Roosevelt/Larry Elgart and His Orchestra (RCA Victor) 1LP 300円
アメリカのモダン・ビッグ・バンドのリーダー、ラリー・エルガートの1959年盤。実弟のレス・エルガートと共にスィンギーなモダンジャズ寄りのオーケストラを率いて一時代を築いたお方のようです。確かに本盤もブラス・セクションの歯切れの良さなど、聴いていて爽快感/気持ちの良さを感じます。正直に言えばジャケットのアストン・マーチンに引かれての購入だったのですが、中身も思いのほか楽しめました。
最後に入っている"Walkin'"はマイルス・ディヴィスでお馴染みのアレです。
